ASCS Gulf South and Mid-South Regions Open This Weekend At Jackson Motor Speedway

Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (April 9, 2018) A showdown is on the horizon as the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region and ASCS Mid-South Regions head for King of the Wings III at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss. on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 at 7:00 P.M. (CT).

A gathering of some of the most professional teams from across the region, King of the Wing had previously been a match-up between the former Southern Outlaw Sprints and ASCS Gulf South Region. With the SOS series dissolving at the end of the 2017 season, the ASCS Mid-South Region stepped in. This weekend's ASCS Regional doubleheader marks the start of the 17th year of competition for the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region, and third for the ASCS Mid-South Region, which was brought back in 2017 after a single season in 2006.

Ray Allen Kulhanek, with 36 career victories and a half-dozen championships, is set to defend his 2017 title with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region. For the ASCS Mid-South Region, Mississippi's Andy McElhannon will look to keep his status as top-dog.

Friday, April 13 will feature NeSmith 602 Sportsman and Factory Stocks in addition to the American Sprint Car Series with Saturday, April 14 swapping out the undercard with NeSmith Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, and Open Wheel Modifieds.

Admission Friday is $12 for adults with discounts for Seniors, Military, and Kids 7-12. Children six and under are free into the Grandstands. Saturday will be $20 for adults with discounts again in place, along with free admission into the grandstands for children six and under.
