FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Corley, Texas (03/31/17) – Two-time and defending COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil champion started the 2017 season on Friday night with a bang by scoring the $2,000 victory in the opener at Timberline Speedway. Sullivan surged forward from the 3rd-starting spot in his Central Arkansas Pest Services #18 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine entry to claim the 17th series win of his career in the 35-lap affair. New Vision Graphics Pole Sitter, B.J. Robinson finished in the runner-up position with 2017 Rookie of the Year candidate, Zach McMillan completed the podium. Kyle Beard and Tanner Kellick rounded out the Top-5 finishers. In preliminary action for the 24-car field B.J. Robinson won Black Diamond Chassis Heat Race #1, while Zach McMillan won Allen Manufacturing Heat Race #2. KARR Transportation Heat Race #3 was won by Jack Sullivan. Brandon Wilson received the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award for advancing eight spots from the 21st-starting spot to a 13th-place finish. Hunter Rasdon received the Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award after heavy contact with another competitor in his heat race left the Jonesboro, Arkansas driver scrambling to make repairs to start the feature with a provisional. On Saturday, April 1 the tour enters unfamiliar territory as it sanctions its first-ever event at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas). The program will be headlined by a $3,000-to-win/$450-to-start, 40-lap finale at the 3/8-mile oval. All non-qualifiers with the CCSDS will receive $150. Also in action will be Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks and 4-Cylinders. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with senior citizens $15 and kids (6-11 years of age) $5. Pit passes are $35. Pit gate opens at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates at 5 p.m. The driver’s meeting is at 6:15 p.m. with hot laps and racing action to follow.
