Three-Race Slate in the Magnolia State Up Next for CCSDS

Little Rock, Arkansas (06/27/17) – After more than a one-month break the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil resumes the 2017 season in fine style this weekend – June 30-July 2 – with a Mississippi tripleheader.

As the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man, Jack Sullivan leads the CCSDS contingent into battle. The two-time and defending series champ will be sporting the florescent day-glow orange spoiler.

Garrett Alberson, Kyle Beard, Jon Mitchell, BJ Robinson, Zach McMillan, Tanner Kellick, Hunter Rasdon, Gavin Landers, Robert Baker, and Brandon Wilson currently round out the Top 10 in series standings.

With seven events completed on the 2017 CCSDS season, four drivers have visited Victory Lane. Sullivan leads the way with a quartet of wins, while Kyle Beard, Timothy Culp, and Tim McCreadie each have a single triumph on the season.

Two events have fallen victim to rain with last Saturday’s Rockabilly at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) the most recent victim. The $5,000-to-win event was rescheduled for Saturday, July 15.

The Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle is currently led by Zach McMillan, who holds a three-point advantage over Louisiana’s Tanner Kellick. Brandon Wilson is in third, ten points removed from the lead.

The weekend opens on Friday evening, June 30 at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), where a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start event will be contested. NeSmith Crate Late Models, NeSmith Street Stocks and Factory Stocks will also be a part of the program. Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 7 p.m. and racing action to follow. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults while kids (ages 6-to-14) are $5. Pit admission is $35 for adults, $10 for kids (ages 6-to-14), and free for kids (ages 5-and-under). Saturday, July 1 takes the tour to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for the second-straight year. The night will be highlighted by a $2,500-to-win/$400-to-start finale. NeSmith Crate Late Models, NeSmith Street Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds and Factory Stocks will also be in action. Pit gates opens at 3 p.m. with the spectator’s gate opening at 5 p.m. Driver’s meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. and hot laps at 7:00 p.m. Racing action is slated for 7:30 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with seniors and military $16. Kids (ages 7-to-12) will be $10 with children (ages 6-and-under) free. Pit admission is $35 for adults with kids (ages 7-to-12) $20. The red-hot weekend draws to a close on Sunday evening, July 2 at Johnny Stokes Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) with a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start event. NeSmith Late Models, Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsman and Factory Stocks will also be in action. The pit gate will open at 3 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Racing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Pit admission for adults is $35, kids (ages 6-to-10) are $25, and kids (5-and-Under) are free with an adult. Grandstand admission for adults $15, kids (10-and-under) are free with an adult. Speedzone Parking will be an additional $15 per car, plus the purchase of grandstand pass(es). Entry fee each night is $110 with non-qualifiers receiving $100.

Each night’s CCSDS format will include group qualifying, heat races, b-mains, and a main event. The tire rule for the weekend is Hoosier 1350 and Hoosier 1600.
