COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Set for 25th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100

Locust Grove, Arkansas (08/16/17) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil will head into battle this weekend at Batesville Motor Speedway in the 25th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 presented by Crop Production Services.

The 25th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 presented by Crop Production Services is slated for Thursday-Saturday, August 17th-19th at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. The $40,000-to-win crown jewel event is co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series - presented by Lucas Oil.

The event’s unique format, featuring dirt late models without a roof, gives spectators an up close look as drivers wrestle their 800+ horsepower machines around the lightning-fast, 3/8-mile oval. In 2015, Shannon Babb charged from his 13th-starting spot to win his first-career Topless 100. Chris Brown led the first 84 laps before yielding the lead to Babb. Babb then held off a late-race charge from Mike Marlar to claim the $40,000 victory. Dale McDowell finished third, followed by Brown and Brandon Sheppard.

Two-time and defending CCSDS Champion, Jack Sullivan has built an 85-marker advantage atop the series standings. The Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man will be followed into battle this weekend by the remainder of the Top 10, including Garrett Alberson, Kyle Beard, Zach McMillan, Robert Baker, B.J. Robinson, Gavin Landers, Tanner Kellick, Jon Mitchell, and Chandler Petty.

Zach McMillan continues to lead the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings with Tanner Kellick and Brandon Wilson in tow.

Josh Richards sits atop the latest LOLMDS standings. He’s followed by Tim McCreadie, Scott Bloomquist, Don O’Neal, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson Jr., Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., Hudson O’Neal, Gregg Satterlee, Steve Francis, and Boom Briggs.

The 25th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 - presented by Crop Production Services will kick off on Thursday, August 17th with an open practice session. The action will ratchet up on Friday, August 18th with Miller Welders Time Trials and Heat Races for Late Models, plus a complete program for Modifieds. Saturday’s activities will begin with a driver autograph session, followed by Late Model B-Mains and the 100-lap, $40,000-to-win Topless 100 main event. Modifieds will once again compete in a complete racing program.
