Kent Robinson Tackles Farmer City for First Win of 2017

Bloomington, Indiana (04/23/17) – Kent Robinson topped a talented field of competitors on Friday night at Farmer City Raceway to park his Billy Moyer Victory Race Car #7r JB’s Salvage/ Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in Victory Lane for the first time in 2017.

“We thought we would slide over to Farmer City and turn some laps to get ready for the upcoming Farmer City 74, and from the looks of the field we weren’t the only ones,” laughed Robinson. “There was some really stout drivers there so to get the win was pretty awesome. I hate that we had to scratch early at Fairbury the next night, but sometimes it just goes that way.”

With 22 entries on hand for the Weekly Racing Series Event at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Friday evening, Kent laid down the fastest time in qualifying to lock into the pole position for the feature. He was joined on the front row by Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, Billy Moyer. Robinson would grab the lead at the drop of the green flag. Despite strong advances from Moyer and 3rd-running Jason Feger, Kent would keep the field at bay as he raced to his first win of 2017. Moyer, Feger, McKay Wenger, and Kevin Weaver completed the Top-5 finishers.

The next night Kent was set to compete in the season opener at Fairbury American Legion Speedway. Unfortunately, the team discovered mechanical issues shortly before the start of the program, and as a result the Indiana driver was forced to scratch from the event.

Full results from the weekend’s events are available at www.FarmerCityRacing.com and www.FairburySpeedway.com .

Kent now turns his attention to a busy upcoming weekend. On Friday night he will compete in his Modified in the annual JB Robinson Memorial at Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Indiana). The event is very near and dear to Robinson’s heart because it pays homage to his late father. Kent is a former winner of the event.

On Saturday evening the action moves to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana), where Robinson will tackle a $3,000-to-win event with the MARS East Super Late Model tour.

Billy Moyer Jr. Tames the Bullring for Second Win of 2017

Batesville, Arkansas (04/23/17) – For the first time in a few years, Billy Moyer Jr. returned to action at Columbus Speedway on Friday, and he made the most of the opportunity by powering his Crop Production Services #21jr Billy Moyer Race Car/ Pro Power Racing Engines Super Late Model to a $2,000 victory at the track known as the “Baddest Bullring in the South.”

“We grabbed the lead there at the drop of the green flag and were pretty good, but then I thought I had given it away in lapped traffic because I slipped back to second,” Moyer Jr. noted. “However, I was able to get back to the lead  and then drive away from the field. This Billy Moyer Race Car was on spot the whole night, and I just want to thank my team, my sponsors, and everyone that makes my program possible.”

Billy started his night by setting fast time in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). After finishing second in the dash, that’s where he started for the feature. He paced the field early before surrendering the lead in lapped traffic. A few laps later though he would jump back to the front of the field.

Moyer Jr. went on to drive away from the field during the remainder of the 40 lapper to claim the $2,000 win, which marked his second triumph of the season. Jamie Tollison, Michael Arnold, Chad Thrash, and Dean Carpenter completed the Top-5 finishers.

Saturday’s MSCCS event at ECM Speedway (Arkadelphia, Alabama) fell victim to rain so the team returned home.

Full results from the event are available at www.StateSeries.com .

This Friday and Saturday, Billy will enter a pair of World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series events in Kansas and Oklahoma. Action opens on Friday evening at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) before moving to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) on Saturday night. Both events pay $10,000-to-win.
