Cade Dillard Collects Richest Career Win in The Firecracker
Leads Every Lap for $30,000 Triumph

ROBELINE, La. (06/30/20) – Cade Dillard claimed his richest career payday on Saturday with the 14th Annual Firecracker on at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.

The driver of the S&S Fishing & Rental Inc. No. 97 MB Customs/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model led every lap of the of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series event en route to the $30,000 triumph.

“This is unreal,” Dillard exclaimed in victory lane. “I really don’t know what to say right now. This whole deal is a dream come true. I never in a million years thought that something like this could happen to me.”

On Thursday evening, Dillard was one of 47 WoO entries registered at Lernerville Speedway for the weekend. Coming in second fastest in his qualifying group behind Scott Bloomquist, Dillard went on to pick up an 8-lap heat race victory, sending him to the redraw.

Receiving the pole position for the $5,000-to-win feature, Cade led the first 18 circuits until surrendering the top spot to Max Blair. Closing in on Blair, as he and Brandon Sheppard battled for the lead in the final laps, Dillard settled with a runner-up finish behind Blair. Ricky Thornton Jr., Scott Bloomquist, and Chase Junghans trailed them to the checkers.

For the second night of the Firecracker 100 on Friday, Dillard secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his heat race behind Michael Norris.

Improving one spot in the 25-lapper, Cade notched a fourth-place finish behind Brandon Sheppard, Michael Norris, and Scott Bloomquist with Boom Briggs coming in fifth.

Earning the pole position for his heat on Saturday afternoon via Thursday and Friday preliminary results, Cade streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory, locking him in the redraw.

Drawing the pole position, Dillard led nearly uncontested for all 50-laps and survived six cautions flags to secure his second WoO win of the season. Besting Max Blair, Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., and Michael Norris at the line.

“I didn’t want to see those cautions, that’s for sure,” Dillard noted. “I felt like I got in a good rhythm before that last one and it just seemed like they kept coming and coming. I don’t know how, but somehow I was able to stay fairly calm.”

“I’ve given some of these big races away by just not being good enough at the end,” stated a relieved Dillard. “The USA Nationals last year is still a hard pill to swallow, because we were so good for so long. Everybody has worked so hard to get to this point, and I know we’ve still got a long way to go. This is all pretty humbling though. I can’t believe everything I’ve been blessed with over the years.”

The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series continues this Thursday-Saturday, July 2-3-4, with an Independence Day Spectacular at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. Thursday’s program will serve as qualifying with Friday and Saturday both offering $20,000-to-win features. Saturday’s finale is scheduled to air LIVE on CBS Sports Network.

MAKING WAVES: Sheldon Haudenschild eyes repeat victory at Cedar Lake
Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing on a hot streak in early half of 2020

NEW RICHMOND, WI – June 30, 2020 – The start of Sheldon Haudenschild’s 2020 season has a much better look than the start of 2019. However, he wouldn’t mind this weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway to be a repeat of last year.

After an up and down start to 2019, Haudenschild earned his first win of the year at the 3/8-mile track. This year, he enters the July 2-4 event at the speedway, again, looking for his first win of the season, but this time on the best hot streak of his career.

The Wooster, OH driver has collected nine top-five finishes and 13 top-10s in the first 17 races of 2020. Last year, he had only three top-fives, seven top-10s and had failed to make four Feature events in a row in the same number of races.

He’s been knocking on the door of a win for the past several weeks, leading laps at the AGCO Jackson Nationals and putting himself in contention to win at a variety of tracks. While he’s been unable to seal the deal, he’s confident in his Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing team, confident in himself and excited to return to Cedar Lake Speedway during the three-day mega event that, for the first time outside the World Finals, will feature the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars and Morton Buildings Late Models.

“It’s one of my favorite tracks,” Haudenschild said about the Wisconsin speedway. “It always seems to put on a good race. Hopefully we can kind of repeat last year and coming out of there with two podiums would be good.”

The doubleheader weekend event at Cedar Lake last year turned into a doubleheader single-day show due to rain. In the first Feature during the day, Haudenschild started eighth and ripped the top to charge through the field and pass 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz for the lead. He parked his NOS Energy Drink #17 in Victory Lane and then finished sixth in the second Feature of the night.

He and his team found better consistency throughout the year after that win. They found themselves in the top-10 more often and never missed another Feature. Haudenschild also went on to dominate the Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

A win this year at Cedar Lake this could open the flood gates to a consistent winning streak with the way his team has been performing. He contributes part of that to the entire team getting along and enjoying racing.

“We all have a lot of fun,” Haudenschild said. “Drew, Kyle and Nickolas, they all work really well together. When I show up, I have a lot of fun and it shows up on track. If we keep doing that the results will keep coming.”

Crew chief Kyle Ripper and crew member Nickolas Goodfleisch were new additions to the team this year. Ripper and Haudenschild already had chemistry together, having worked together when Haudenschild ran his own #93 car a few years. That’s proven to be a benefit with their performance, so far.

They built together momentum at the three season opening races during the DIRTcar Nationals in February. Haudenschild finished 11th the first night, eighth the second night and fourth the third night. Then COVID-19 put racing on hiatus before then could keep it rolling.

When racing resumed in May at Knoxville Raceway, Haudenschild had to transfer into the Feature through the Last Chance Showdown but made a charge from 21st up through the field before flipping in Turn 3. He then finished eighth a I-55 and returned the next night with a chance to win at the track but jumped the cushion while leading and flipped.

Since then, he’s only finished outside the top-10 once – with an 11th-place at Lake Ozark Speedway – and has regularly found himself competing in the top-five. Being able to get in a rhythm of racing every weekend has helped, he said.

“Now, giving us a little bit of time to work together and get some racing in has definitely helped,” Haudenschild said.

There will be three days of racing at Cedar Lake Speedway this year with full attendance each night. Thursday night will feature Qualifying for Friday and Saturday’s events and a special $3,000-to-win Showdown race. Friday and Saturday nights will consist of full race programs including Heat Races, Last Chance Showdowns, and a pair of $20,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start Features – 35 laps each for Sprint Cars.

Saturday’s Feature will also be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network – another reason Haudenschild said he is looking forward to the weekend.

“It’s great for our sport and our sponsors,” said Haudenschild, who has been sponsored by NOS Energy Drink for three years now. “Hopefully we can put on a good show for all of the fans at home and see how it goes.”

You can purchase tickets to the three-day show at Cedar Lake by clicking here.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all of the action live on DIRTVision.

The pilot of the Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 21jr Hass Horizontal/ Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Capital Race Car/ Clements Racing Engines Super Late Model overcame Friday night issues at Tennessee’s 411 Motor Speedway to register a fifth-place finish on Saturday night in LOLMDS action at Talladega Short Track.

“Friday night went about as bad a night could go. I hit the wall in hot laps and then hit the wall again in my heat race. We had a ton to fix both times, but my team never gave up. We used a provisional and picked off a few cars to finish 17th,” Moyer Jr. said. “On Saturday we unloaded our brand-new backup car and we had a few bugs to work out early in the night, but in the feature, we had a good hot rod and came away with a fifth-place finish. Our whole team needed that shot in the arm, and hopefully we can build on it this week.”

Friday night saw Billy Moyer Jr. return to competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the Tennessee’s Action Track 50. In a field of 38 entries, Moyer Jr. fell short of a transfer position in his heat with a seventh-place finish, which relegated him to a B-Main. With a provisional already locked into the opening night feature, Billy elected to scratch from his 12-lap consolation event. Passing eight cars in the 50-lap finale, Billy Moyer Jr. recorded a 17th-place outing.

On Saturday evening at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the EZ-Go 50, Billy followed up the eighth-fastest time in his qualifying group with a second-place finish in his heat race behind Jimmy Owens. Earning the sixth-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Moyer Jr. improved one spot in the 50-lapper to place fifth behind Jimmy Owens, Josh Richards, Kyle Hardy, and Michael Page.

McIntosh Disappointed With 411 Run

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jun 30) Donald McIntosh has done well racing at 411 Motor Speedway and was very disappointed with his sixth place finish in the Lucas Oil Tennessee Action Track 50 at the 3/8-mile oval.

McIntosh qualified second to Jimmy Owens in the first group, won the second heat and was third on the starting grid. Nobody had anything for eventual winner Owens, but he raced with the leaders and in the top five until the last lap restart when he was dropped to sixth.

“Good qualifying, good heat race win, some good racing, but the finish should have been better than sixth,” said McIntosh. “As good as we normally run here at 411 and to have the start we had a sixth place finish is a big disappointment.”

With the primary car getting repaired and readied for the Southern Nationals it was the backup car that was on the track Friday night.

“I am not sure what happened, but the back up car seemed to be running good and I agree with Donald, the sixth place finish was a big disappointment.” Said David Bryant.

Over the upcoming Fourth of July weekend McIntosh and BMS will race two Iron-man events on two East Tennessee high-banked tracks. Friday night at Tazewell Speedway and Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Blount Excavating, Massey Electric, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors, Walker’s Truck Contractors, and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.

BMS races Rocket XR1 Chassis. Power is provided by Vic Hill Racing Engines with Dyer’s Top Rods, Driven Racing Oil, Waterman Fuel Pumps, VP Race Fuels and starting power from Go Lithium batteries. Gregg Satterlee Two-for-Two at Port Royal Speedway
Bedford Speedway’s Milt Miller Tribute Up Next

INDIANA, Pa. (06/30/20) – Gregg Satterlee is now two-for-two at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway after driving his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing Valvoline/ Classic Ink/ Rocket Chassis to a $3,000 triumph on Wednesday.

“This is so awesome and it’s such a privilege to race here and I’m glad we live close enough to make the trip here each week,” said Satterlee. “It’s really just good to be able to get out and race as it was slow spring with all the cancellations, so to win really is just a plus.”

In a field of 32 cars at Port Royal Speedway, Satterlee came in fifth fastest in his group before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. Earning the third-starting position for the A-Main, Gregg blasted past Ross Robinson for the lead on lap 11 and led the remainder of the 25-lapper to win by 1.010 seconds ahead of Robinson. Rick Eckert, Jeff Rine, and Colton Flinner rounded out the Top-5.

“We’ve got a pretty good roll going on here and we have a pretty good car so I hope we can keep it going,” said Satterlee. “Ross had a really good car, but I was able to make a couple good laps and get some momentum going to pull away. I changed my line there late a couple times and with a track like this, you can do that and ultimately it paid off.”

The following night Satterlee visited Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) for the opening round of The Firecracker. In a field of 48 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Satterlee scored a fourth-place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a second-place finish or better to make the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Gregg came one spot shy with a third-place finish.

For another $6,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday afternoon, Gregg followed up the 11th fastest time in his qualifying group with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 13th, Satterlee advanced six spots in the 25-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.

On Saturday night, with preliminary results setting the grid for heat races, Satterlee edged his way into The Firecracker with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $30,000 on the line, Gregg salvaged a 17th place outing after suffering two flat tires on laps 31 and 37.

For full results from these events, please visit www.PortRoyalSpeedway.com and www.WoOLMS.com .

Johnny Scott Doubles Down in Lucas Oil MLRA Action
Independence Weekend Racing Ahead for Scott Brothers

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (06/30/20) – Johnny Scott topped a pair of Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) events over the weekend.

Scott drove his Rancho Milagro Racing No. 1ST Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Rocket Chassis to $5,000 victories on Wednesday at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) and on Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Okla.).

Drawing 36 cars for the Midweek Mayhem at Lucas Oil Speedway, Johnny followed up the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group with a second-place finish in his heat behind Jesse Stovall.

Starting the feature in eighth, Scott tracked down race-leader Payton Looney in the closing laps, sliding ahead with two-to-go to record his first win of the season and first career MLRA victory. Topping Looney, Jesse Stovall, Garrett Alberson, and Jeremy Grady at the line, Scott earned a $5,000 payday.

"I kept brushing my nose down there on them (infield) tires, and if I could hit it just right I could get a heck of a run," Scott said. "I gotta thank my crew, we have been working our butts off to get these things up front. We have been trying to follow that Lucas Oil tour and them guys have been beating on us hard, so we just came to run this deal this week to get some more experience. This is just my second night out in this XR1 and I gotta thank Mark Richards for all his help."

The following night in a field of 33 MLRA entries at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Oktaha, Okla.), Johnny topped the speed charts in time trials before placing second in his heat behind Jake Neal.

Starting the $3,000-to-win A-Main in sixth, Scott charged through the field four spots to register a runner-up finish behind Jesse Stovall with Chad Simpson, Will Vaught, and Justin Duty rounding out the Top-5.

As Johnny followed the MLRA to Salina Highbanks Speedway for the two-day ARMI Freedom Classic, Stormy entered Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) action at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the Tennessee’s Action Track 50.

Drawing 38 cars, Stormy fell short of a transfer position in his heat with a sixth-place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a third-place finish or better to make the show, Stormy came one spot shy with a fourth-place outing.

During the same night at Salina Highbanks Speedway, Johnny secured his spot into the $3,000-to-win A-Main with a 10-lap heat race victory. Gaining two spots in the 30-lapper, Scott notched a runner-up finish behind Payton Looney with Chad Simpson, Jeremiah Hurst, and Logan Martin completing the Top-5 finishers.

At Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Saturday evening for the E-Z-GO 50, Stormy posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Josh Richards, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the finale. With $12,000 on the line, Scott fell three spots in the 50-lapper to register a 10th place outing.

For the final round of the ARMI Freedom Classic on Saturday, Johnny locked his spot into the main event with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Terry Phillips.

Charging ahead of race-leader Terry Phillips near the halfway point, Scott led the remainder of the 40-lapper to secure his second win of the season and a $5,000 prize. Phillips, Tony Jackson Jr., Jesse Stovall, and Chad Simpson trailed him to the checkers.

"We tried some stuff tonight which put us a little bit behind because we were too tight in time trials, but it worked out for us," Scott said. "I didn't know how the track was going to end up, but whatever they did watering it made it pretty racey or good enough to pass anyway for a few laps. I told my crew guy to make a few little changes there before the feature, and this thing came alive.”

This weekend, Stormy Scott will return to the LOLMDS tour with a doubleheader in the Buckeye state. The Series visits Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) on Friday before heading to Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park on Saturday. Both events will pay $12,000-to-win. Johnny Scott has plans to enter the 12th Annual Slocum 50 with the Lucas Oil MLRA at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa), which boasts a $10,555 top prize.

Sides Produces Best Run of Season During AGCO Jackson Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (June 29, 2020) - Jason Sides scored his best result of the season last Friday at Jackson Motorplex during the 42nd annual AGCO Jackson Nationals.

Sides won his first dash of the season and ran in the top five throughout most of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature before finishing eighth. He is the third different driver to post a top 10 for Sides Motorsports this season.

"It was good, but at the same time you hate to lose spots," he said. "I was looking for a strong top five and ended up eighth."

Sides was efficient throughout the night, qualifying 16th quickest and advancing from third to second place in a heat race to lock into the dash.

"We got the lucky No. 1 for the dash and we won that," he said. "We were fine when we were out front by ourselves. Other than that we'd get a little tight behind other cars. They had worked the track before the feature. It had some wetness around the bottom with crumbs around the middle. When I started the race it hit some looser stuff and slid. (Daryn) Pittman got by and Logan (Schuchart) got by right away. I ran third and then (Brad) Sweet did a slider so I was fourth for the longest time until we got to traffic. The next thing you know I slowed down too much for the lapped cars and that's when Parker Price-Miller and Donny (Schatz) went by. I was running too hard and blew through the cushion on the next end and let two more go by."

The outing was an improvement from the opener, which began on Thursday with Sides qualifying seventh quickest and advancing a position to finish fourth in a heat race. Rain postponed the feature until Friday evening.

"We went down into the corner and got to the bottom to start the feature," he said. "Jacob Allen's car cut off. I checked up, (David) Gravel got in the back of me, (Mark) Dobmeier hit him and we all crashed. We had to restart at the tail end. We weren't good that far back in dirty air. It wanted to bike and try to flip on the first lap. I went to the bottom and once I got some speed up I moved back to the top."

Sides ended 21st.

Saturday's event finale began with Sides placing second in a qualifier to lock into the 12th starting position for the main event.

"On the start and restart I was in the wrong lane and I'd lose a couple of spots," he said. "By midpoint it started laying rubber and that was that."

Sides finished 18th.

He is heading to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., this Thursday through Saturday for the Independence Day Shootout with the World of Outlaws. Tim Kaeding will also be in a Sides Motorsports sprint car during the event.

"I do like that place," Sides said. "It's been good to us in the past. It will be a good event and we have TK with us in the second car so that should be fun."

Hagar Hitting Four Straight Sprint Car Races This Week

Inside Line Promotions - MARION, Ark. (June 29, 2020) - Derek Hagar will nearly double his number of 360ci winged sprint car starts this season when he tackles four straight races this week.

Hagar plans to compete on Wednesday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., before facing USCS Series races on Thursday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.; on Friday at Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, Tenn.; and on Saturday at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss.

"My goal is to hit the ground running," he said. "The perfect outcome is to sweep all four races. That'd help get our race team back where it needs to be. We need the attitude of racing back in our shop and to get everyone involved. We've had too much downtime. I know we have a good team and good people behind us. I don't think it'll take us long to get going."

Hagar made four sprint car starts in February, but has only raced in the division once since then. He picked up a triumph on May 31 while driving for long-time friend Marshall Skinner after sitting idle for 15 weeks.

"It's very weird," Hagar said. "It almost got to the point it wasn't fun. It just didn't feel right. It feels good to finally get back in our car and try to contend for some wins."

Despite not racing often, Hagar does have three wins in three official starts during the last month. Two came in his midget.

"It hasn't hurt us as far as success, but from a financial standpoint it hurts," he said in reference to the lack of racing this year. "This is what I do for a living. There's nothing like driving your own car. I've been fortunate to get in some people's cars where I know what it is so we've been able to be successful.

"I'd say our schedule the rest of this year will be hit or miss. We'll see how these four races go and go from there. We need to make it through this and then plan the rest of our year. We still have some of our bigger races like the Hockett Memorial and Short Track Nationals in the fall. We'll see what the schedule brings and go from there."
