Evans, Georgia (03/21/18) – Ahnna Parkhurst took her LauriesFund.org #23 Richard Childress Racing Crate Late Model into battle on Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway, where she raced to a sixth-place finish.

“We had a real good car early in the race, but as the race went on I was unable to pick up any additional positions,” Parkhurst said. “It was still a real fun night. I had a blast running the high side most of the night. We’ll head onto Boyd’s Speedway and look for an even better finish.”

Behind the wheel of the Textron Off Road #23 Crate Late Model, Ahnna Parkhurst visited Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) on Saturday, where she entered the Weekly Racing Series Event. Blake Hahn Posts Top-10 Finish In Lucas Oil ASCS Season Opener

Bryan Hulbert - MESQUITE, Texas (March 20, 2018) Starting off his 2018 season with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com with an eighth-place finish at the Devil's Bowl Spring Nationals, Blake Hahn has a slew of notes to build on.

"It wasn't a bad weekend overall, we just got too conservative on our setup in the A-Feature," commented Hahn.

Running fourth to first in the night's fourth Heat Race, the move put Blake as the High Point Driver of the Night, giving him first shot in the Top 8 redraw for the A-Feature lineup where he drew the fourth starting spot.

"We had a great starting spot, but we were way to free in the corners. I could feel the rubber in the last few laps, but even then, we still had the car so free I didn't have any forward drive. I was having to drive as hard as I could just to keep up enough momentum to maintain my position."

While saying the weekend was okay overall, Hahn was disappointed that the weather didn't allow the team to race on Saturday.

"I was geared up and ready. We were ready to redeem ourselves but we can't control the weather, so we'll just have to do better during our Speedweek visit."

Watching the calendar and the clock, the team's next outing is scheduled to be the Air Capital Shootout at 81-Speedway with NCRA on March 30 and 31, followed by Texas Motor Speedway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com on April 6 and 7 during NASCAR weekend.

The 2018 season is Blake Hahn's 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars. Rilat Contends for Top Spot During ASCS National Tour Season Opener

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (March 20, 2018) - Travis Rilat was on pace to contend for the 45th annual Spring Nationals victory last Friday at Devil's Bowl Speedway.

Rilat kicked off the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com season-opening race by advancing from third to second place in a heat race.

"The whole key to putting yourself in position during an ASCS show is to move forward in your heat race enough to make the feature redraw," he said. "If you've done that you have a legitimate shot at contending for the win."

The BDS Motorsports driver earned enough heat race points to garner a spot in the feature redraw, in which he pulled the No. 6 to start the A Main on the outside of the third row.

"The outside was definitely the place to start and we got a great start," he said. "We jumped into third right away and got up to second shortly after. We were running down Martin Edwards for the lead, but I knew something was going wrong so I pulled into the infield."

Rilat exited the race early while running second because of a mechanical problem. He was credited with a 21st-place finish.

"Bryan Sundby gave me a great car," he said. "It's unfortunate we weren't able to finish the race because I think we had a car that could have won, but that happens in racing. You just have to move on to the next race. Unfortunately, we have to wait a little longer to race again since Saturday's race rained out."

Rilat and BDS Motorsports will return to action April 6-7 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

"He's been a great friend. He was instrumental with a support group for me and my family when I was in the hospital up there. He and his wife helped us out in a hard time. As far as his engine skills go, he's one of the best in the country. There's only a handful of great engine builders across the country and I consider him one of the best."

Hafertepe Grabs Runner-Up Result in Lucas Oil ASCS Opener At Devil's Bowl Speedway

Bryan Hulbert - MESQUITE, Texas (March 21, 2018) Starting his bid for a third consecutive championship with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com this past weekend, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. raced to a second place finish in the rain-shortened Devil's Bowl Spring Nationals in the Hill's Racing Team No. 15h.

"You know, even with the testing we did the week before, at the Devil's Bowl, you don't really get to run on the racing surface per se," stated Hafertepe who has not had the chance to really test his ASCS car as much as his 410cid program so far this season. "We're really still trying to feel things out and see what the cars need so it was good to get a whole race night in and run second when I feel like we were struggling all night long so I was happy with the finish and knowing how much better we can be."

Drawing the back of the night's third Heat Race, the Sunnyvale, Texas driver moved to a fourth-place finish to secure his starting spot in Friday's 25-lap A-Feature event. Just shy of the redraw, Sam took the green from the ninth starting spot.

Getting the front of the field later in the race, restarts were key in Sam's ability to move forward.

"The track was really follow the leader around the cushion and when that happens, a lot of guys will try to do more than what's there and that really opened up the window for us so I don't think I did anything really spectacular expect run my line and realize that if a person is going to slide someone in front of you, you're going to run up on them so I just waited for those opportunities. I just feel like I've raced that track so much in my career that I know where it's going to go so I just maintained and tried to capitalize on people's mistakes. We were off in the feature, and I kind of know what we need to do to fix the problems so I feel good going into these next few weeks that we're going to be where we need to be very soon."

Taking in as many laps as possible to further test his Heidbreder Foundation No. 15h, Sam is slated to be in action at the Air Capital Shootout at 81-Speedway in Park City, Kan. on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 before making his return to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on April 6 and 7.

Wednesday's With Wayne: Bronze Weekend At The Devil's Bowl

Bryan Hulbert - MESQUITE, Texas (March 21, 2018) Florida testing is paying off for Wayne Johnson with the Oil Medics/Outlaw Wings No. 2c parking on the front straightaway via a third-place finish on Friday night at the Devil's Bowl Spring Nationals with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com.

"We had probably one of the best race cars on Friday night," commented Johnson.

"Going to Florida and running what we did, we learned a lot of what we feel like we need to be doing to the car and the Devil's Bowl is one of the tracks that's been pretty good to me and we actually changed the car to something different than I've ever done and if felt really good."

Drawing the pole of the second Heat Race, Johnson was able to win easily in order to transfer into the A-Feature. Making it into the redraw, Wayne came out with the seventh starting spot where two attempts at the start saw the No. 2c rocket to third on the first attempt, then second, before finally having to give chase on the third try.

"The way the track was in the Heat, I knew I had to get the jump on Matt [Covington] so I didn't lose any points and I thought the track was going to be heavy all night so I really didn't want to get buried in the back. Ended up in the redraw and got our normal seventh and on the first start, I came off of turn-two running third then that kid spun and brought out the yellow, and I moved up to fifth and I didn't think there was any way of getting that kind of start again but when we took the green, I had such a good run, I thought I was going to run over Harli, so I moved up and got a run on Travis and came out running second. I just thought man, this thing is mine until the red came out."

Racing with Harli White throughout most of the race, Wayne finally got the run to clear the No. 17w, and in doing so, tripped through the cushion just enough to allow Sam Hafertepe, Jr. a chance to get by.

"I got the run on her into turn-one, and just had to much speed and when I hit the cushion, that let Sam get by but once I got straightened out, I was able to run Sam down but by then the rubber started coming in and I was running the top and didn't realize it until Matt [Covington] passed me, but that late restart I was able to get back around him when he missed the rubber."

Wayne summed up the night by saying, "Honestly, the first night out with the series to come home with a third feels pretty good. Last year, we ended up crashing and that put us behind for quite a few races so it's a lot better start since we're not digging out of a hole right off the bat."

Wayne's next outing is slated to be the Air Capital Shootout at 81-Speedway in Park City, Kan. with NCRA on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31. Herrera Begins ASCS National Tour Title Chase With Top 10 at Devil's Bowl

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (March 21, 2018) - Johnny Herrera is focused on capturing his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com championship.

Herrera has been a contender for the title during each season he's been a full-time competitor dating back to 2011. During that time he's finished second in the championship standings three times. He also has a third-place result, two fourth-place finishes and last year he ended sixth.

The 2018 campaign began last Friday at Devil's Bowl Speedway, which hosted the 45th annual Spring Nationals.

"We drew decent for the heat race, started fourth and ran third," he said. "That was all there was to get."

The heat race result locked Herrera into the 13th starting position for the A Main.

"We were really good," he said. "I got up to sixth or seventh, but I didn't get a great restart. I fell back to 11th or 12th and that's about the time another yellow came out. We got a good restart that time and were able to get back up to seventh."

Herrera rallied to post a seventh-place finish, which marked his seventh top 10 in his last nine races at the track.

"Overall we had decent speed and we were happy," he said. "It was a good start to the season and hopefully we can keep improving each time out."

Saturday's race rained out.

Herrera will be off this weekend before competing March 30-31 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.

Bergman Places 11th During Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Season Opener

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (March 21, 2018) - Seth Bergman narrowly missed another top-10 result at Devil's Bowl Speedway last Friday during the season-opening race for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com.

Bergman kicked off the 45th annual Spring Nationals by advancing from fourth to third place in a heat race at the half-mile oval.

"There wasn't a lot of passing in the heats so fortunately the pass we made was enough to lock us into the A Main," he said.

Bergman was ranked 15th in overall points following the heat races and he earned the second-to-last lock-in position. It lined him up on the inside of the eighth row for the main event.

"The track was one lane around the top in the feature," he said. "You had to really work to set someone up to pass them or be right there to pounce if they made a mistake. We worked our way into the top 10, but lost a position late in the race."

Bergman ended with an 11th-place finish, which marked only the fifth time in the last 18 races at Devil's Bowl Speedway that he hasn't recorded a top 10.

Saturday's event finale rained out.

Bergman is slated to return to action March 30-31 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.

Courtney Tackles Turnpike Challenge this Weekend!

Lonnie Wheatley, INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 21, 2018) – With no lucky four-leaf clover to be found in Du Quoin, Tyler Courtney now shifts his attention to this weekend’s season-opening POWRi Midget “Turnpike Challenge” at Oklahoma City’s I-44 Riverside Speedway.

It will mark Sunshine’s second visit to the cozy 1/5-mile clay oval aboard the Clauson-Marshall Racing Driven2SaveLives/Indiana Donor Network No. 7bc Midget after taking in the opening portion of the event last year.

Courtney showed speed in last year’s Oklahoma City event, recovering from heat race issues to win the “C” Main and then making a last-corner pass to snare the final transfer position from “B” Main action before the “A” Main was postponed a day by rain.

The NOS Energy Drink racer looks to I-44 Riverside Speedway this time around to bounce back after a “Shamrock Classic” that went awry at the Southern Illinois Center after a promising start.

In that March 10 USAC Midget season opener in Du Quoin, Courtney hustled the Stanton Racing Engines-powered Elk Grove Ford entry from sixth to third in heat race action and then promptly climbed from fourth to second in short order in his qualifying race aboard the CSI Shocks/Schoenfeld Headers machine.

The evening then took a bad turn for Courtney and the CMR team when he was collected by the spinning leader of that qualifying race.

“He spun and I just had nowhere to go, I had to check up,” Courtney sums up.

From what could have been a secure “A” Main starting position to several rows deep in “B” Main action, a narrow track brought an early end to his Shamrock Classic.  “The track was pretty much one-lane for our “B” so there wasn’t really anywhere to go,” Courtney explains.

“It’s not the start you want at all,” Courtney points out.  “You just have to take those nights and throw them away, move on to the next one.”

Courtney, who picked off a pair of USAC Sprint Car wins in Florida to kick off the 2018 season, sees this weekend’s Turnpike Challenge as an excellent opportunity to rebound.

“We have a good team,” Courtney states.  “We’ll regroup at I-44 and build from there.”

The I-44 Riverside Speedway action unfolds on Friday and Saturday following a Thursday night practice session.

2018 Quick Stats:  8 races, 2 wins, 5 top-fives, 5 top-tens.

Up Next: POWRi Midgets “Turnpike Challenge” at I-44 Riverside Speedway in Oklahoma City, OK, on Friday and Saturday.
