J&J AUTO RACING TEAMS POSTS THREE WINS ON THE WEEKEND
Schatz Continues Streak, Turpen & Hagar Find Victory Lane

McKENZIE, Tenn. (March 9, 2017) – The first week of March proved to be a fruitful one for the J&J Auto Racing team as the McKenzie, Tenn., based manufacturer saw three drivers pick up victories in two series. Eight-time and defending World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Sprint Car Series Champion, Donny Schatz, made a clean sweep of the series’ return to LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, on March 3, while Morgan Turpen picked up her first United Sprint Car Series (USCS) victory of the year at Hattiesburg (MS) Speedway the same evening. Derek Hagar scored the weekend’s final win at Magnolia Motor Speedway (MMS) in Columbus, MS, on March 4th to close the weekend.

Schatz’s victory saw him set quick time over the WoO field, win his heat race and the dash event en route to a 35-lap romp to the checkered flag. The win marked his third WoO win of 2017 and his sixth overall. Two-time and defending USCS National Series Champion Turpen drove to the win over Tony Stewart, who finished third, and Marshall Skinner in fourth as she claimed her 13th career series triumph at Hattiesburg Speedway.

Hagar won his heat race and drew a four-pill for the Feature event inversion at MMS to earn the pole for the start of the race. The victory was his 44th career USCS event win and his first of the 2017 season. Terry Gray followed Hagar to the line in second place and Turpen capped off her weekend with a fourth-place run. Marshall Skinner finished sixth in the event and Stewart earned a Dash event win on the night.
