Jake is the pilot of the Knowles Race Parts & Bodies #66 Brucebilt Performance Rocket Chassis. The 2017 campaign marks Knowles' 17th year of racing. This season he plans to chase the full Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series in pursuit of his first championship with the tour.

When not competing with the tour, Jake will utilize an open motor to compete in events throughout the Southeast.

Jake Knowles looked to be on his way to his first win of the season on Saturday night before lapped traffic intervened at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama).

With 22 cars on hand for the Weekly Racing Series Event at the facility known as "The Hornet's Nest," Knowles qualified on the pole for the feature event via qualifying. He would jump to the lead at the drop of the green flag.

Knowles paced the field at the 1/3-mile oval for the majority of the event before lapped traffic forced him to check up with just three laps remaining, which allowed Tim Busha to slip past for the lead. Knowles would go on to notch a runner-up finish

“We had great car, and it’s tough to see a lapped car cost you a race, but sometimes it goes that way,” said Knowles. “Hopefully we can grab our first win of the year this coming weekend at Dixie Speedway.”

For full results from the event, please visit www.TalladegaShortTrack.com .

This Saturday Jake will return to action competition with the Dixie Short Track Spring Championship at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia). For more information on the $3,000-To-Win event, please visit www.DixieSpeedway.com .

Tyler Clem Claims Historic Win with United Sprint Car Series

St. Petersburg, Florida (04/03/17) – 14-year-old, Tyler Clem made history over the weekend by becoming the youngest driver in the history of the United Sprint Car Series to win a feature event.

On Friday night Tyler Clem returned to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) to do battle with the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters. Charging to an 8-lap heat race win from the second row, Clem locked into the 2nd-starting spot for the 25-lap A-Main. Bringing home his first victory of the season, Tyler wheeled his way to the front, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the United Sprint Car Series. Thomas Kennedy, Jordon Mallet, Tony Stewart, and AJ Maddox completed the Top-5 finishers.

The following night against a field of 27 cars, Tyler advanced six positions in his heat race, landing a 2nd-place finish behind Thomas Kennedy. Rolling off 4th in the USCS Hoosier Speed Dash, Clem stormed to the win, which positioned him on the pole for the main event. He would battle for the lead early in the event before bad luck struck.

As Tyler made the pass for the top spot, the leader hit the slick and pushed up the track. The two cars made contact with Clem wheel-hopping the leader, which sent him up the track and into the wall. Despite having a bent and cracked frame, Tyler still rebounded to register a Top-5 finish. Clem crossed the line in 4th behind Tony Stewart, Danny Martin Jr., and Mitch Brown with Terry Witherspoon finishing 5th.

“Saturday night was a little disappointing, but still it was an incredible weekend for our team,” said Clem. “It’s a big honor to be not only the youngest winner ever with the tour but also to beat such a strong field of drivers. I want to thank my family, my team, my sponsors, and all of my fans for their awesome support.”

Full results from the events are available at www.USCSRacing.com .

This Saturday Tyler will return to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) for a $1,000-to-win, Late Model event. For more information on the event, please visit www.BubbaRacewayPark.com .

Bergman Tackling Texas Sprint Car Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track

Inside Line Promotions - LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 3, 2017) - Seth Bergman is venturing to one of his most successful tracks this Friday and Saturday when he tackles Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track for the Tony Stewart presents the Texas Sprint Car Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Bergman has won two features and has earned three podium finishes, four top fives and six top 10s during seven races at the track located in Fort Worth, Texas, since 2012.

"That's a track we've always run well at since we first went there," he said. "It's a big event each year so hopefully we can come out of there with similar success."

Bergman finished fifth and ninth, respectively, last season. He was victorious in 2015 and in 2014, when he also posted an 11th -place result. Bergman placed third in 2013 and eighth in 2012.

"I think it's always a confidence booster to head to a track where you've won, especially when you've won more than once," he said. "We have a good setup for the track so if we can put ourselves in position and catch the right breaks I think we can earn another win or two."

Bergman competed last weekend at Southern New Mexico Speedway during the ASCS Southwest Sprint Car Shootout presented by Consolidated Solar Technology.

The ASCS Southwest Region doubleheader began on Friday, when Bergman placed second in a heat race to advance into the 11th starting position for the main event.

Unfortunately, the night ended early as Bergman was caught in an opening-lap crash that resulted in him flipping. He was unable to restart the race and was credited with a 22nd-place finish.

Saturday night didn't fare much better as Bergman advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event, but he was again sidelined early and closed the weekend with another 22nd-place result.

"Last weekend was rough so I'm glad we're heading to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend," he said. "We want to get our first win of the season."

Inside Line Promotions - GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (April 3, 2017) - Sammy Swindell will return to Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track for the first time in more than a dozen years this weekend during the Tony Stewart presents the Texas Sprint Car Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Swindell, who will drive for A.G. Rains during the two-day event on Friday and Saturday, last competed at the track located in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2004 when he charged from 23rd to 11th during a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series race.

"It's been a while, but I thought it was a nice race track," he said. "It's laid out pretty nice and has a good size to it where you carry some speed there."

Sides Caps California Swing With Three Consecutive Top 10s

Inside Line Promotions - PERRIS, Calif. (April 3, 2017) - Jason Sides closed the first swing of the season through California on a positive note last week when he earned three top-10 finishes.

"I think we're getting some consistency and where we should be," he said. "We've had speed all season, but haven't got the finishes. I think we could have had three top fives, but I was happy to leave California with three top 10s."

The action began last Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville for the Brad Sweet Placerville Short Track Showdown presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

Sides qualified fifth quickest and he finished third in a heat race to miss locking into the dash by only one position. That lined him up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event at the bullring.

"We qualified pretty decent and made it through the heat," he said. "I think we could have been in the dash, but I got chopped a bit on the first lap. It wasn't a big deal, just a racing deal. We had a caution and I didn't get the jump like we did the first one.

"In the feature we had a red flag with a few laps to go. I don't know if it sealed the tires or let them cool off too much, but on that last restart we lost a couple of spots."

Sides battled for a top five throughout the main event before he hung on to a ninth-place finish.

Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford hosted the Kings Outlaw Shootout on Friday. Sides timed in 18th quickest and he ended sixth in a heat race to miss locking into the main event by only one spot. However, he placed third in the Last Chance Showdown to garner a transfer into the back of the main event.

"We had a great car and I got to fifth with three laps to go," he said. "I started moving around to see if I could go better. Where I was running on the bottom (David) Gravel got by me and James McFadden. I got to McFadden for fifth at the checkered, but ran out of time.

"Just like Logan (Schuchart) and Donny (Schatz), we were on the bottom. The cushion would hold you nice in turn one all the way to the exit of turn two, but there was a spot that would grab you and spin your front around. It was the same thing in turn four. I think a lot of guys kept trying to run it. We just stayed on the bottom."

Sides charged from 23rd to the sixth-place result.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway for the SoCal Showdown. Sides qualified fourth quickest and he finished second in a heat race to advance into the dash. He gained a position in the dash to end third, which started him on the inside of the second row for the main event.

"They went out and worked the track before the non-wing feature and it looked good, but they didn't do anything to the track before our race," he said. "I tried running the bottom too long. By the time I moved up we were about sixth and got in the rubber. On some late cautions it was like a big wasps nest going into turn one. It was slide jobs from hell in the rubber. You want to make sure you get to the rubber and someone would bonsai in there and either you lift or you both crash."

Sides capped the night with an eighth-place finish, which marked his sixth top 10 of the season.

He will make his debut at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., this Friday for the Yuma Valley Showdown before racing on Saturday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., for the Arizona Desert Shootout with the World of Outlaws.

QUICK RESULTS -

March 29 - Placerville Speedway in Placerville, Calif. - Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 3 (3); Feature: 9 (9).

March 31 - Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif. - Qualifying: 18; Heat race: 6 (5); B Main: 3 (3); Feature: 6 (23).

April 1 - Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif. - Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 2 (2); Dash: 3 (4); Feature: 8 (3).
