Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Goes Green Tonight

Columbus, Mississippi (09/22/17) After seeing drivers from across the country getting their hot rods dialed in during Thursday night’s practice session, the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 kicks into high gear tonight at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi).

Tonight’s program includes preliminary events, while Saturday will see B-Mains and the massive finales.

The 2017 Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Presented by Cooper’s Country Meat Packers will be headlined by a $20,000-to-win/$1,200-to-start, 100 lap finale for the Super Late Models as competitors look to tame the 3/8-mile oval in hopes of claiming their share of the total purse that approaches $70,000.

In addition, Billy Franklin with Franklin Enterprises and Franklin Fence/ Erosion Control has stepped up to the plate to sponsor a Non-Qualifier’s Race for the Super Late Model division. The 20-lap event will be held on Saturday evening, and will post a $1,000-to-win/$100-to-start purse.

All Super Late Model non-qualifiers will have the option to run the event. If a driver elects to run the Non-Qualifier’s Race, he or she will forfeit their $100 B-Main money, but will receive a minimum of $100 for starting the Non-Qualifier’s Race.

Magnolia Racing Products will also be presenting the Super Late Model Fast Qualifier with a battery-powered rivet gun.

This weekend’s Super Late Model field is expected to include a talented roster of racers including 2017 World 100 winner, Jonathan Davenport along with 2016 and 2017 Knoxville Late Model Nationals Champion, Mike Marlar, and 2017 Firecracker 100 Champion Brandon Overton.

Other expected entries include Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer along with Dane Dacus, Chris Wall, Kyle Bronson, David Breazeale, Ross Bailes, Austin Rettig, Billy Moyer Jr., Timothy Culp, Jack Sullivan, Spencer Hughes, Chad Thrash, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, Garrett Alberson, Chandler Petty, Jonathan Rowan, Eric Cooley, Riley Hickman, T.J. Reaid, Tanner Kellick, Billy Franklin, Jason Croft, Neil Baggett and more.

Entries from more than 10 states are expected this weekend as drivers look to tame the 3/8-mile oval.

NeSmith Late Models will be competing for a $3,000 top prize. MSSS Street Stocks will be competing for $2,000-to-win. Factory Stocks will be competing for $800-to-Win, and Late Model Sportsman $1,000-to-Win.

NeSmith Late Models will also be in action battling for $3,000-to-win/$200-to-start with a $100 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

The MSSS Street Stock division will be headlined by a $2,000-to-win/$100-to-start with a $75 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

The Factory Stock division will be headlined by a $800-to-Win/$75-to-start with a $25.00 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

Late Model Sportsman division will be headlined by a $1,000-to-Win/$100-to-start with a $35 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

Friday night will see preliminary action for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 as Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field.  NeSmith Late Models, MSSS Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Late Model Sportsman will run their heats.

B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night as well as the Super Late Model Non-Qualifier’s Race. Last but not least, the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Championships feature events will be held for all divisions.
