MOTHER NATURE ONCE AGAIN FORCES CANCELLATION OF DURRENCE LAYNE LATE MODEL EVENTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Mother Nature is being unkind to the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour for the second straight week. A high percentage of rain has forced officials to cancel the Annual Salute To The Armed Forces Nationals scheduled at two Mississippi tracks this Saturday night and Sunday night.

A Tropical weather system bringing heavy rain showers is scheduled to affect Mississippi this weekend and has led to the cancellation of the $2,500-to-win Salute To The Navy 50 at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS on Saturday night and the $2,000-to-win Salute To The Air Force 40 on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

The next two events on the 2018 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour will be on June 8 and June 9 for the Rumble On The Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS. This event has already been affected by Mother Nature as these are the rescheduled dates from an April washout.

The June 8 race at Greenville Speedway will be a $2,000-to-win 40-lap event, and the June 9 race will pay $2,500-to-win and the distance will be 50 laps. These will be Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2018 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring season.
