Southern All Stars Make First Of Three Stops At Smoky Mt
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event number five will take place this Saturday night April 29th at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., with the WIMZ 103.5 Rockin with the Stars 50 paying$7,500 to win for the 50 lap event. Also on the program will be the USCS sprint cars which should make for one of the best doubleheaders in racing for the year at Smoky Mt.
The Southern All Stars return to Smoky Mt Speedway marks the first of three trips to the 4/10ths mile oval as the series will return on June 17th for a $5,000 to win event and then the King of the Mountain Fall Classic will be a two day event October 6th-7th that will pay $10,000 to win and $1000 to start, making it one of the biggest events of the season at the track.
As for this Saturday night drivers that are expected to on attendance include current points leader Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA., who has three series wins so far this season along with second place driver Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., third place current Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the year leader Austin Horton of Newnan, GA., Tristan Sealy of Moultrie, GA., T J Reaid of Acworth, GA., Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., Gar Dickson of Flintstone, GA., along with Smoky Mt area drivers, Donald McIntosh, Tommy Kerr, Mark Douglas, Chad Ogle, Skip Arp plus many more drivers from across the south east.
The Southern ALL Star portion of the program will be a little different than past events held at the track as there will be SUNOCO Race Fuels qualifying, along with Hoosier Racing Tires Heat Races, PPM Racing Products B Mains and the 50 lap feature, so no cars will be locked in by qualifying all cars will run heat races.
Pits gates will open at 3pm with drivers meeting set for 6:30pm and hot laps to follow
