Swindell Earns Eight Wins in Five Different States With Four Racing Series

Inside Line Promotions - GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Nov. 13, 2017) - Sammy Swindell is only three winning seasons away from producing at least one victory per season for 50 consecutive years.

Swindell earned eight wins this season to push his streak to 47 straight winning seasons.

"I'm 62-years-old and most people say I shouldn't be doing this or I can't do it," he said. "For someone that is my age to be able to compete and do it the way I've done it with different series, different teams, different cars, makes it even more of an accomplishment for me."

Swindell posted an ASCS Mid-South Region best three victories, including sweeping the Short Track Nationals for the second straight year. The win also marked his fifth career triumph in the event, which is the most of any driver in the storied history of the race.

"Winning Short Track Nationals back to back and all the good runs we had late in the year stand out," he said. "It's pretty neat to be part time and race at different places and be so successful. The first part of the year didn't go right, but we know what happened and some of it was out of our control. To be able to get it back on track was pretty amazing."

The Short Track Nationals win was his final of the season and it marked his fifth victory in a six-race span, including three with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Seven of the season wins came with car owner A.G. Rains while the other was in New York while driving for Jared Zimbardi during an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions race.

"Going into New York and winning with the Zimbardi's and running the Mark Coldren car in Central Pennsylvania with a second-place finish at Williams Grove was neat," Swindell said. "It's not easy going and getting in a different program and competing for wins.

"I want to thank all of the different car owners and teams for asking me to drive for them this year. Hopefully we can build on this year and expand in 2018."

Swindell also claimed a USCS Series event win and he was victorious in five states - Arkansas, New York, Tennessee, Missouri and Colorado.

Rilat Records First ASCS National Win Since July 2013 During Final Weekend of Season

Inside Line Promotions - SOMERTON, Ariz. (Nov. 13, 2017) - Travis Rilat saved his best for last during the 2017 season.

Rilat scored his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph since July 2013 and he earned three top 10s during a tripleheader hosted by Cocopah Speedway last weekend when he piloted a sprint car for BDS Motorsports for the second time this season.

"It was a really good weekend," he said. "Bryan Sundby's got good equipment and has been needing the win as well. He and I just seemed to hit it off."

The eventful weekend began on Thursday with Rilat charging from fourth to win a heat race and from sixth to fourth place in a qualifier. That gave the team the most overall points, which earned the pole position for the 25-lap A Main.

"It was as good as it could get," he said. "We drew a good heat, which made a lot of the difference, too. Everything fell our way. The car was perfect. It'd stick wherever we could put it. We had cautions at the right time. I guess you could say the stars aligned."

Rilat led the distance to record his first career win with BDS Motorsports and his third overall triumph of the season.

The team returned to the oval on Friday for Round 2, which got off to a strong start. Rilat won a heat race from the pole position before advancing from fifth to fourth place in a qualifier. He capped the night by placing ninth in the main event.

"We had the car really good in the heat again and were ok in the qualifier," he said. "The balance was a little off in the A Main. Although you want to win, we just needed to get a solid finish to build points for Saturday."

Rilat ranked third in overall event points following the two preliminary nights. That locked him into the third starting position for Saturday's A Main.

"The car was really good, but starting on the inside lane wasn't the spot to start," he said. "You had to get on the top of turns one and two on the start. The top two cars got up there and the whole outside row had an advantage. We fell to sixth on the opening lap and ran there the rest of the race."

Rilat closed the weekend with a sixth-place result, which marked his fourth consecutive top 10 with BDS Motorsports.

Riley Hickman Nabs North Georgia Speedway Cash

Cleveland, Tennessee (11/14/17) – Riley Hickman parked his Hickman Manufacturing #R1 American Billet/ CVR Race Car Crate Late Model in Victory Lane on Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway during the annual Turkey Rumble.

“We’ve had a bit of a monkey on our back the past few weeks, so it felt great to get back to Victory Lane again,” Hickman said. “We’ve got Boyd’s Speedway this week and then Magnolia Motor Speedway on Thanksgiving weekend before we call it a season, so hopefully I can grab some more victories to end things on a high note.”

Riley Hickman made the short trip to North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Georgia) on Saturday night, competing in the Crate Late Model portion of the annual Turkey Rumble. Topping the 19-car field the feature, Riley streaked to his eleventh win of the season over Chip Brindle, Heath Hindman, Kinny Kizzar, and Jason Deal.

Hickman pocketed a $2,000 payday for his victory.

Riley will have his sights set on double duty this Saturday, when he enters the annual Gobbler at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia). Hagar Looking to Continue Winning Streak at Talladega Short Track

Inside Line Promotions - MARION, Ark. (Nov. 14, 2017) - Derek Hagar is scheduled to wrap up his sprint car season this Saturday at Talladega Short Track with the USCS Series.

Hagar enters the event needing a victory to extend his winning streak at the oval in Eastaboga, Ala., to three straight seasons.

"We have a good track record at Talladega so hopefully we can end our season in Victory Lane," he said.

Hagar placed fourth at the track earlier this season during a USCS Series Speedweek event.

"I remember we didn't have the car tight enough and that hurt us," he said. "We anticipated some rubber and it didn't lay down. We backed up to fifth or sixth and worked back up to fourth. Our car got better as the race went on, but it was too little too late."

Hagar has earned six wins with the USCS Series this season, which is tied for the second most.

Additionally, he has closed his season with a victory during two of the last three years.

"It's a huge boost going into the offseason to have won your final race," he said. "You have a good taste in your mouth all offseason long while preparing for the next year. It's everyone's goal to win the season finale, but only one person achieves that goal and gets to have that smile on his or her face throughout the offseason."
