SEAVEY WINS POWRi ILLINOIS MIDGET WEEK CHAMPIONSHIP

LINCOLN, Ill. (June 10, 2018) – Logan Seavey captured the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League’s 2018 Illinois Midget Week championship after earning top-five finishes in each of the week’s three races, including a victory on Friday night at the Jacksonville Speedway. The final race of Illinois Midget Week scheduled for Lincoln Speedway on Sunday was cancelled due to rain.

Seavey, the 2017 POWRi champion, added a third-place finish at Fayette County Speedway and a fifth at Belle-Clair during the week’s action. For the season, Seavey has four national midget feature wins, three of those coming in POWRi.
.
“My Mobil 1 Toyota was fast all week,” said Seavey. “The last couple weeks really show how hard the Keith Kunz Motorsports (KKM) team works. I can’t thank them enough for all the long hours put in to prepare six to nine cars to go racing every day.”

Seavey’s KKM teammate Spencer Bayston earned the USAC Indiana Midget Week title last week as the team competed in seven races in 11 days.

Toyota drivers earned five of the top six finishing positions during Illinois Midget Week as KKM drivers Tanner Carrick and Ryan Robinson finished second and third, respectively. Zach Daum placed fifth and Tucker Klaasmeyer was sixth.

The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League returns to action June 30 at Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois.
