Billy Moyer Jr. Rolls to Career Win in Deep Fried 75 at Duck River
Spooky 50 at Chatham Speedway Up Next

Batesville, Arkansas (10/15/18) – On Saturday night Billy Moyer Jr. raced to the biggest win of his young career in his Nutrien Ag Solutions #21jr Black Diamond Race Car/ Pro Power Racing Engines Super Late Model. He led all 75 circuits of the seventh annual Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park to pick up the $14,500 check.

“I started in the right spot of course,” said Moyer Jr., who had earned the pole position via preliminary action. “I knew getting that jump (at the start) was big. I wanted to get the jump. I wanted to get in clean air and I wanted to set my own pace because I didn’t want to use my right front tire up with this tire rule, and I feel like the car was pretty dang good.

“We spent a lot of this season chasing our tails, but ever since we got this new car it feels like I’ve gotten my confidence back. There’s not many races left before the year is over, but I’m going to do my best to go out and win every single one that I enter.”

Billy Moyer Jr. invaded Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) on Friday night for the preliminary events for the seventh annual Deep Fried 75. With 36 Super Late Models on hand for the two-day event, Moyer Jr. registered the fastest-time overall in his qualifying group locking him into the Dash. Picking up the Dash victory, Billy earned the pole position for Saturday night’s A-Main.

Jumping into the lead at the drop of the green flag in Saturday’s finale, Billy Moyer Jr. led wire-to-wire en route to his sixth win of the season, which came over Riley Hickman, Victor Lee, Morgan Bagley, and Austin Rettig. He pocketed a career-high $14,500 payday for his dominant performance in the 75-lap affair.

On Friday night a $2,000 winner’s check is up for grabs, while Saturday’s finale will post a $9,000 top prize.

Rico Abreu back on top during Keller Auto Speedway’s Cotton Classic

Date: Saturday, October 13th
Event: 33rd Annual Cotton Classic
Series: Sprint Car Challenge Tour (SCCT)
Track: Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds (Hanford, Calif.)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 1st (1st)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (October 15, 2018) - Rico Abreu was a man on a mission Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway, ultimately snagging his fourth victory of the 2018 season, the second in his home state of California.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Alpinestars/Rhino Wipe/Lucas Oil Products/Priority Aviation/No. 24 sprint car, earned his Keller Auto Speedway triumph during the Sprint Car Challenge Tour (SCCT) segment of the 33rd Annual Cotton Classic. Accomplished from the pole position, Abreu’s 360 sprint car victory was worth $2,500, adding his win in Hanford to a list that already includes victories in Missouri, Illinois, and Chico, California. It was a second consecutive Cotton Classic victory for the St. Helena native.

“Man, this is awesome. I owe this all to my team. They work so hard and I appreciate it. They keep believing in me and never give up,” Rico Abreu explained after his win. “Everything is clicking right now and it feels great. Winning is awesome, but doing so in California is even better. We spent so much time out in the Midwest this summer, so to come home and get some wins in my home state is great. I’m excited for next weekend.”

After winning the SCCT dash, Abreu went on to start from the pole position on Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway. Despite giving up the top spot to Shane Golobic, Abreu persevered, utilizing a restart with ten laps in the books to get back around the Elk Grove Ford entry. Forced to withstand multiple takeover attempts and slide jobs, Abreu held on to score the Cotton Classic payday.

Rico Abreu’s 2018 campaign will continue with Thunderbowl Raceway’s 25th Annual Trophy Cup on Thursday through Saturday, October 18-20. The three-day, 360 sprint car blockbuster will award $4,000 on all three nights of competition, but the weekend point leader will earn a $13,000 grand prize. The total weekend payout equals $200,000.

World of Outlaws Championship Standings (as of 10/15/2018): 1st - 9278 points (262-point margin over second place, Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 15, 2018) - Despite ending the weekend without a victory, nine-time and defending World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, accomplished the next best feat and scored back-to-back runner-up finishes with the Greatest Show On Dirt, rallying from as far back as 12th to do so.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 15 sprint car, is now just six starts away from accomplishing a tenth Series championship, now with a 262-point advantage over Kasey Kahne Racing’s Brad Sweet.

The pair of runner-up performances propelled Schatz’s 2018 top-five total to 48 during World of Outlaws competition.

“As much as I would have liked to push it harder this weekend, you have to look at the bigger picture,” said Schatz after his Eldora Speedway finish. “We are racing for a championship and every result is important. Sometimes you aren’t good enough to win, but earning yourself a spot on the podium is just as important. Hats off to my team for their efforts. I work with the best in the business. We were just a little short this weekend.”

After a washout at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Friday, October 12,, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart Racing officially kicked off their weekend at Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track on Saturday, October 13. Ending in a green-white-checkered shootout, Schatz drove on to finish second at the southwest Indiana half-mile, eventually working around Tim Shaffer for second with less than two to go, but failing to get by Brad Sweet on the final circuit. Impressive enough, Schatz earned the evening’s KSE Hard Charger Award for advancing the most feature positions; 12th to second.

On Sunday, October 14, the Greatest Show On Dirt made their final Ohio appearance of the 2018 season and invaded the highbanks of Eldora Speedway. Like Saturday, Schatz ended his campaign one position short of the top spot, ultimately charging ahead from eighth to finish right behind Tony Stewart Racing fill-in, Christopher Bell.

Up next on the schedule, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart Racing will continue their 2018 World of Outlaws title chase with a two-race sweep through the Sunflower State, first visiting Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday, October 19, followed by a stop at Dodge City Raceway Park on Saturday, October 20. The World of Outlaws have yet to visit Kansas in 2018.
