Garrett Alberson Wins $5,000 in Will McGary Memorial
LOLMDS Northeast Triple Header Awaits

Las Cruces, N.M. (04/04/22) – Garrett Alberson continued his fast start to the 2022 season over the weekend with another $5,000 victory in the Ken & Beth Roberts-owned No. 58 Nutrien Ag Solutions / Roemer Machine & Welding / Mesilla Valley Transportation / Black Diamond Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

His latest trip to the Winner’s Circle came on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway, where he led the final 38 laps of the sixth annual Will McGary Memorial to score the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series victory. He added a runner-up finish the night before at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.

“We had planned to race in Illinois this weekend with the World of Outlaws, but weather scrapped that, so we decided to head south to race with the COMP Cams (Super Dirt) Series, and it proved to be a great weekend,” Alberson said. “Friday night we had a car capable of winning but just couldn’t find a way past Kyle (Beard), but on Saturday night we got to the lead early and never looked back. We’ll take what we learned and this momentum and get ready for Lucas Oil (Late Model Dirt Series) action this weekend.

“Thanks so much to everyone, who supports this race team!”

With Mother Nature wiping out the Illini 100 weekend at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Robert Motorsports trekked south to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) to compete with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). In a field of 25 cars, Alberson secured his spot into the opening night feature with a heat race triumph. Moving forward one spot in the 30-lap affair, Garrett notched a second-place finish, which came behind Kyle Beard.

The following night at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) for the sixth annual Will McGary Memorial, Alberson topped the 29-car field in time trials before placing first in his heat. Overtaking Timothy Culp for the lead following a lap-three restart in the feature, Garrett raced to his second win of the season and third career CCSDS triumph. He claimed a $5,000 payday ahead of Mason Oberkramer, Logan Martin, Brian Rickman, and Tyler Stevens.

Weather Reroutes Rocket1 Racing to Bristol Dirt Nationals
LOLMDS Three-Race Weekend Up Next

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (04/04/22) – After rain once again derailed the team’s weekend plans, Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing invaded Bristol Motor Speedway for a pair of $50,000-to-win XR Super Series events.

During the course of the weekend, Sheppard registered a ninth-place finish and an 11th-place finish in the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We sure hated to see the Illini 100 get canceled by weather again. It’s one of my favorite events, but it seems like Mother Nature doesn’t have any love for it. We changed direction after the rain out and went to Bristol (Motor Speedway). We weren’t bad throughout the weekend, but we just couldn’t get exactly to where we needed to be, and at that place if you are a little off, it shows in a big way. Still got a couple of solid runs, and we’ll take what we learned and head down the road to the next one,” Sheppard commented.

With unfavorable conditions and wet weather cancelling the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard trekked to Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon to take part in the final two rounds of the Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals.

With 30 XR Super Series entries on hand, Sheppard laid down the second-fastest time in his qualifying group before placing first in his heat race. Starting the $50,000-to-win A-Main in third, Brandon slippedsix positions in the 50-lapper to finish ninth.

For another $50,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Brandon secured his spot into the finale with a second-place finish in his heat. Coming one spot shy of a Top-10 finish in the 50-lap affair, Sheppard crossed the line in 11th.

Full results from the weekend are available at
www.XRSuperSeries.com .

The upcoming weekend has the team ready for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in the Northeast. Action opens with the $30,000-to-win, 53rd annual Hillbilly Hundred on Friday night at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W.V.). The event which was rained out in 2021 posts a $30,000 top prize.

On Saturday evening the $15,000-to-win Conococheague 50 will be contested at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway, and the weekend draws to a close on Sunday evening at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway with the River Valley 40.

Sheppard currently sits second in the latest LOLMDS standings

Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Devil’s Bowl Speedway (Mesquite, Texas)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 2nd (3rd)

2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Fifth | 1590 points [96 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 4, 2022) - Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing have been on a tear since leaving the Golden State and have now secured podium finishes in their last two starts, most recently finishing second at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday, April 2. Schatz earned his way into the $20,000-to-win Texas Outlaw Nationals main event by way of runner-up finish during his respective heat race. The Fargo, North Dakota, native would go on to start third, sneaking by Brian Brown for second at the midpoint of the non-stop 30-lapper.

Pennsylvania invader and former Outlaw traveler, Brent Marks, went on to win the $20,000 payday. Despite all attempts to catch the “Myerstown Missile,” Marks’ ability to navigate traffic proved to be too strong for the ten-time World of Outlaws champion.

“I was super tight, so getting out around somebody was kinda sketchy,” Schatz said of his Devil’s Bowl performance. “Brown kept slowing down more and more, so I kinda had no choice but to just go and hope that I didn’t get too balled-up and someone goes by on the bottom.

“Brent (Marks) was so far out there, it was hard to get caught back up,” Schatz added. “We obviously didn’t have any yellows, so it might’ve been a different story if we had a yellow. But that’s the way it goes.”

Prior to his Texas Outlaw Nationals finish, Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Digital Ally, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, finished third during a midweek visit to the state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico, on Tuesday, March 29. Eventually finishing exactly where he started, Schatz pressured for second early, but was ultimately unable to get by.

ON DECK:
Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a doubleheader in the Show-Me State, set to invade US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, on Friday, April 8, followed by a stop at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri, on Saturday, April 9. The weekend will headline with the annual Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark awarding $15,000 to the winner. Schatz will enter the weekend fifth in the championship driver chase on the back of nine top-ten finishes in 12 starts.

“We raced each other clean and I know he (Jim Bernheisel) would never let me win, and he definitely gave it his all,” Bryan Bernheisel shared in Victory Lane. “To come back and win a race, right at a year after my accident last year and to do it at my home track, there’s just no better way to start a year. Not to mention, this is a brand-new car that me, my dad, and Brandon (Bernheisel) came up with… and it’s just awesome. Pill draw was obviously important, but I was so comfortable in this car, and it did everything I could’ve asked it to do.”

Bryan and Jim Bernheisel made the short trip to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pa.) on Saturday afternoon to kick off the 2022 season with the track’s season opener.

In a field of 19 Super Late Models, Jim started the night with a heat race win, while Bryan charged forward four spots to finish fourth.

“You know the first lap I ran him (Bryan Bernheisel) pretty hard because we were side by side to the point that I almost thought I was going to run into him going into turn one, but luckily I didn’t because it would’ve crashed us both,” Jim Bernheisel commented. Once he got to the lead, I settled into second. It was a great day for our team.”
Sunday's event at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) fell victim to Mother Nature.
