Garrett Alberson Eager to Return to the Driver’s Seat
New Mexico Native Will Enter 10-12 Events with Black Diamond Race Cars

Shreveport, Louisiana (12/26/18) – After almost a year removed from the driver’s seat, Garrett Alberson is eager to be returning to action in select events in 2019.

“After Childress Racing decided to close shop at the end of 2017 it left me ride-less for last season,” Alberson recounted. “Dave Deetz and the Kellick family gave me some opportunities early last season, but then Ronnie and Terri Stuckey gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse to crew on Earl Pearson Jr.’s car. I took advantage of that great deal and had a great time. Unfortunately, it didn’t leave me much time to do any racing.”

While Alberson will again be a crew chief on a full-time basis for Pearson Jr. on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) in 2019, he will also get the opportunity to enter 10-12 events in a team car.

“The Stuckey family have been so good to me. Now, they’re going to put me in a team car for a dozen or so races this year,” the New Mexico native revealed. “I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity.”

Alberson will debut in the Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil #1a P&W Sales/ Rio Grande Foot Clinic/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model during the upcoming 14th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. The annual miniseries will be held at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) on January 5-13. In total, Alberson will enter six races in nine days during the event.

“In addition to the great help that I’m getting from the Stuckey family, Dave Deetz with Rio Grande Foot Clinic and Mr. J.R. Haley are stepping up to support me during the Wild West Shootout,” Alberson said. “I’m truly humbled by everyone’s great support. It’s very exciting to get to race again, especially in such top-notch equipment. My main goal is to knock the rust off quickly and get back to being in contention for win like I know I’m capable of doing.”

While much of the remainder of the 2019 campaign will be spent turning wrenches on Pearson Jr.’s car, Alberson expects to enter another four to six events.

“On some Lucas Oil off weekends, I’ll be racing more events,” Alberson continued. “We haven’t laid all of that out yet, but once we do I’ll have it posted on my website.”
