Gregg Satterlee Rallies Late for Hagerstown Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Win
Speedweek Action Resumes Tuesday at Path Valley Speedway

INDIANA, Pa. (06/12/23) – Gregg Satterlee pocketed $4,000 for his Appalachian Mountain Speedweek win on Sunday evening at Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway aboard his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing / Classic Ink / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Gregg took control with six laps remaining en route to his third win of the year.

“Thanks to everyone who I was racing with for racing smart. I know on that restart we were three-wide going into turn three there,” Satterlee said in Victory Lane. “I knew someone needed to not lift, to try to get the lead and I know Drake (Troutman), he gasses pretty hard and I know Kyle (Hardy), he’s not afraid to sail it in there, but thankfully we made it through that corner. I don’t know what it looked like from out here, but when we went into three, I thought this could go really bad, but luckily it worked out.”

Taking part in the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek opener, Gregg Satterlee trekked to Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) on Friday afternoon to pilot his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Late Model for the revival of the miniseries that has sat idle since 2017.

Drawing 40 Super Late Models, Satterlee followed up the seventh-fastest qualifying effort with an eight-lap heat victory. Starting the feature in ninth, Gregg advanced forward seven spots to register a runner-up finish. He chased Jason Covert across the line with Austin Berry rounding out the podium.

On Saturday afternoon at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Gregg’s second-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the seventh row for the $4,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the top-10, Satterlee gained four positions in the 35-lapper to finish 10th.

For the weekend finale on Sunday at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.), Satterlee laid down the eighth-fastest lap in his time trial before picking up a heat race victory from the second row. Tracking down pacesetter Drake Troutman on lap 30 of the feature, Gregg led the final six circuits to claim his third win of the season and a $4,000 payday. He finished 2.702 seconds ahead of Kyle Hardy with Troutman, Tyler Emory, and Dylan Yoder completing the top-five finishers.

With three events in the books, Gregg is currently second in the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek point standings.

Chase Holland Scores SFCR Saturday Modified Triumph
Cedar Lake Speedway’s USMTS Masters on Deck

SUCCESS, Miss. (06/12/23) – A Saturday rainout in western Missouri sent Chase Holland east to the other side of the state, and his nomadic ways rewarded him with his victory of the year aboard his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 West Trucking / Wehrs Machine / MB Customs Modified.

“It took us longer than we would’ve like to get our first win of the year, but we are grateful for it, just the same. After we got rained out at Monett (Speedway), we knew that we wanted to race so we hauled to the other side of the state and got the win at St. Francois County Raceway,” Chase shared. “I can’t thank my fans enough for supporting me and all my family, friends, and sponsors for their constant support.

“I’m looking forward to Cedar Lake (Speedway) this weekend as we head up there with some momentum in our corner.”

Chase Holland had planned to race in the Mod Brawl at Missouri’s Monett Raceway on Saturday evening, but when rain forced its postponement event, he and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified team visited St. Francois County Raceway in the Show-Me State instead.

It proved to be the right decision, as Holland picked up his first victory of the year at the 3/8-mile track in Farmington, Missouri.

Holland was one of 20 A Modified drivers on hand for the track’s weekly show, and after a second-place finish in his heat race, the driver from Success, Mississippi, started in the sixth position for the 20-lap A-Main.

Holland took over the lead on the 14th lap and showed the way for the rest of the event, taking the win by just 0.130 seconds over runner-up Chasten Boen with Danny Resinger, Zach Resinger and Tyler Helm rounding out the top five.

The St. Francois County triumph came on the second night of a doubleheader for Holland, who had opened the weekend at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Missouri) on Friday. He was among 14 entrants in the quarter-mile track’s United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified class.

He turned in a runner-up finish in his heat race and started the 20-lap A-Main from the fourth spot. Holland spun during the race and charged from the rear of the field to take the checkered flag in the second position. However, he and several other top finishers were disqualified for a post-race deck-height infraction.

Full results can be found at www.sfcraceway.com and www.callawayraceway.com .

The team now rides north to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisc.) for the 24th annual Masters with the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt.

The weekend opens with a $3,000-to-win program on Thursday followed by a $5,000-to-win slate on Friday and a $11,000-to-win event on Saturday.

Chase is currently fifth in the Grant Junghans Rookie of the Year competition.

Chase Holland thanks his marketing partners, which include Industrial Dock & Door, West Trucking, Twisted Tech, SUBLMTD, Pro Line Inc., MB Customs Race Cars, Performance Bodies & Parts, CMD Race Shocks, Wehrs Machine & Racing Products, Wall-2-Wall Performance Engines, Larry’s Performance Carburetors, Brinn Inc., FastShafts, Bassett Wheels, QA1, Swift Springs, Bullet Proof Tees, ASHLEY lauren, Jason Lofton’s Ridiculous Speed Shop, Bridal an Formal Boutique & House of Tux, Back on the Rack Resale, Boone’s Kitchen Bath & Patio, C&M Specialties, Harris Woodworking, Headliners Plus, Bower Frams, Schwartz, Orgler & Jordan PLLC, Vortek Pest Control, Big Owl Lubricants, FORWARDbite, Squires Formal Wear, Gulf Coast MotorSports Magazine, Taranto’s Wool Market, and MyRacePass.com Marketing Services.

Mallett Tackling ASCS National Tour Races in Oklahoma and Kansas

Inside Line Promotions - GREENBRIER, Ark. (June 12, 2023) - Jordon Mallett is facing an ASCS National Tour tripleheader this weekend.

The action begins on Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., hosts a race on Friday before the weekend concludes on Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan.

"We were glad to have a weekend off last weekend to let us rebuild and regroup," he said. "We're ready for this weekend. We've been to Creek County and to 81 Speedway before, but we don't know much about Humboldt so we'll see what we can do with it."

Mallett's career-best result at Creek County Speedway was a fifth-place run in 2019.

"We've ran good there before," he said. "It's a tricky place and one of those tracks that can get really technical, which is what I like. Sometimes it's really fast, too."

Mallett's top outing at 81 Speedway came in 2016 when he hustled from 12 th to third.

"We raced in Hattiesburg, Miss., the night before and super-trucked there," he said. "We rolled out a dirty race car. We started midpack and I think we ran third. That was one of the most fun weekends I've had in that part of the country. We didn't have time to stop to clean the car because we trucked 14 hours. We stopped somewhere on the trip to do motor maintenance and then rolled it back in the trailer. When we got to the track we got some dirty looks and then we sliced through the field in the A Main. That was a fun trip."

Mallett enters this weekend ranked seventh in the ASCS National Tour championship standings.

Hagar Adds Two More Triumphs to Push Winning Streak to Nine in a Row

Inside Line Promotions - PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 12, 2023) - Derek Hagar is one win away from his winning streak reaching double digits.

Hagar swept the sprint car portion of the No Fender Friday event at Crowleys Ridge Raceway last Friday to give him nine straight victories to kick off the season.

"I'm surprised with as much success as we've had," he said. "This is a late start to the year for us. To go out there and run with guys who have 20 starts already this season and to be successful, I wouldn't have dreamed of doing that. We're going to stay humble and cherish the wins and hope they keep coming."

Hagar piloted his No. 9jr to a heat race win from third before winning the ASCS Mid-South Region main event from the pole.

"We drew the No. 1 to start on the pole," he said. "I ran the bottom the first lap and then moved to the top. We made it through traffic real easy and didn't feel a challenge. It was a good night in the 360."

Hagar was just as efficient will driving the McCord Farms 305ci winged sprint car. He powered from fifth to win a heat race before maneuvering from fourth to capture the main event.

"On the start of the feature when I got on the gas the guy in front of us washed up and I got by him at the flag stand," he said. "The leader went to the bottom into turn one and I slid the corner and banged the dirt wall. I got a launch and drove by him for the lead coming off turn two.

"Keith Ainsworth showed me his nose halfway through the feature. There's a dirt wall with tires in it and you have to get the right rear on it and it'll launched you. A couple of times I annihilated the tires in the wall and was trying not to knock the rear end out of the car. I started floating the corner, really not running against the berm and running through the slick trying to carry momentum. He showed me a slide job and didn't clear it. I was able to drive around him in turns three and four. After that I went back to doing what I was before and we were able to pull away to win."

Last Saturday's event at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., rained out.

Hagar plans to venture to Riverside International Speedway this Saturday for the Greg Hodnett Memorial. He was victorious at the event last year.

Drake Troutman Hustles to Hagerstown Modified Victory Lane
DIRTcar Summer Nationals Awaits

HYNDMAN, Pa. (06/12/23) – Drake Troutman piloted the Jerry Foster Racing / CertainTeed No. 5 ABC Supply Co. / All About Doors / Longhorn Chassis Modified to his 14th overall win of the 2023 season on Sunday evening with a triumph at Hagerstown Speedway.

“We came away with the Modified win on Sunday at Hagerstown (Maryland), and we were in contention for a pair of Super Late Model wins, but the cards just didn’t fall our way,” Troutman said. “I’m looking forward to heading west this week to kick off the Summer Nationals in Illinois. A big thank you goes out to all the great people who support my racing program!”

Drake Troutman kicked off a tripleheader weekend with the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek on Friday with a trip to Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the $4,000-to-win opener.

With the top three qualifiers from each group getting sent to a dash, Troutman timed in second-fastest in his group before placing first in the dash. Earning the pole for the A-Main, Drake led the opening nine circuits but began to fade as his tires started to wear. He suffered a flat tire with three-to-go that ended his night early.

For Saturday’s stop at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, Drake followed up the eighth-fastest lap in his qualifying group with an eight-lap heat race victory. Chasing a $4,000 payday in the feature, Troutman ran a steady pace in the 35-lapper to finish eighth.

Breaking out his Modified alongside his Super Late Model on Sunday evening at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway, Troutman’s preliminary results in his Super Late Model placed him on the second row for the feature. With $4,000 on the line, Drake jumped to the lead and paced the field until a lap 30 restart relegated him to a third-place finish. He followed Gregg Satterlee and Kyle Hardy across the line.

In the Modified ranks, Drake went fifth-to-first in his heat before leading flag-to-flag in the 25-lap feature. He notched his 14th win of the 2023 campaign ahead of David Stremme, Michael Altobelli, Glenn Elliott, and George Dixon.

Full results from the events available at www.LMSpeedweek.com and www.HagerstownSpeedway.com .

The team is now preparing to trek west to Illinois for the first week of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals. The upcoming slate includes:

The win was great for the local fans, as well.

“Saturday, the track was fast and David [Gravel] hit his marks,” Brown added. “He was going to be tough to beat with the track like it was.”

"It's always valuable to get laps at Knoxville, especially when trying to establish a baseline for the Nationals. I really wish we had the opportunity to race there more often. Every time we are there, I feel like we learn something new," Bayston explained. "Having two nights back-to-back is really beneficial, and we really built a solid feel.

"I'm glad Carson [Macedo] is doing well after the incident," Bayston added. "As a driver or a fan, I never want to have to experience something like that again. I'm extremely thankful for our equipment and the safety crews for keeping us safe."

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 12, 2023) - Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing may not have been victorious in their two-day visit to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, but their effort was just as impressive, and also motivating, highlighting their trip with a ninth-place score on Friday, June 9, doing so with a hard-fought punch from row eight. In fact, the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion secured the evening’s Hard Charger Award for his efforts, simultaneously bumping his top-ten tally to 15 on the season.

Although not in the top ten, Schatz’ Saturday effort at the Sprint Car Capital of the World was also highlighted with a strong feature rally, this time blasting ahead from row ten to finish 12th.

A five-spot rally during heat race competition propelled Schatz into Friday’s A-Main, advancing from ninth to finish fourth. The following evening, Schatz finished fifth during the program’s heat, starting in the exact same position.

With all results considered, the Fargo, North Dakota, native remains fifth in the World of Outlaws driver championship standings, a mere-40 points shy of overtaking fourth from Shark Racing’s Logan Schuchart.
