2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Standings: 10th | 1916 points
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
CARLISLE, Pa. (May 1, 2023) - It was a tough weekend through the Midwest for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, forced to open their two-day slate through The Land of Lincoln and the Hoosier State with a 21st-place score at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, but despite the chaos that ultimately led to their poor result and a tore up race car, the team quickly regrouped and rallied their focus, eventually cashing in for their eighth World of Outlaws top-ten of the season Saturday night at “The Class Track,” Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana.
Bayston, the reigning World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year and ace of the CJB Motorsports, TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, No. 5 sprint car, finished tenth at the southern Indiana staple, rallying three spots after starting 13th on the 40-lap grid. Impressive enough, Bayston was forced to make a work area visit early on in the program, leading to a much larger jump than the said three positions.
With all results considered, Lebanon, Indiana’s Bayston remains tenth in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings, padded by the aforementioned eight top-ten finishes in 15 appearances.
“It was a grueling weekend to say the least. We got tore up on Friday night at Tri-City, but the guys fought through it and never gave up,” Bayston said. “Going into Saturday, we knew that we were probably up against some rough conditions again, as Tri-State usually produces some tight racing and contact. Despite all of that, we were able to leave Haubstadt basically unscathed and score another top-ten finish.
“I’m ready for Eldora,” Bayston added. “I’m looking forward to getting some laps under my belt which will help us prepare for a lot of big races this summer. It should be a solid weekend.”
ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with back-to-back nights at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track - Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio - on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6.

(May 1, 2023) - Although his finishes were just shy of the top-ten threshold, finishing 12th on back-to-back occasions during visits to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, remains as focused as ever, already setting his target on a pair of starts at The World’s Greatest Dirt Track, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6.
Dubbed #LETSRACETWO weekend, the Eldora doubleheader will not only give Schatz an early season opportunity to conquer the western Ohio staple, but it will also give the Fargo, North Dakota, native a chance to pad his notebook, utilizing valuable lap time to prepare for upcoming Million and Kings Royal.
Although Schatz, driver of Tony Stewart’s Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, MadJax XSeries, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, missed the top-ten in both of his Illinois and Indiana visits, there were plenty of silver linings, as each result ended with a positive charge, advancing eight positions in Granite City and four positions in Haubstadt.

“Blackjack” goes all in and hard charges with High Limit at 34 Raceway; Kokomo, Eldora all ahead |

By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (May 1, 2023) - “Blackjack” Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing put on a show Tuesday night in their High Limit Sprint Car Series appearance at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, not only capping the midweek blockbuster with a top-ten performance, but securing the evening’s Hard Charger Award in the process. Impressive enough, Brown’s eventual 12-position rally technically commenced from the B-Main, racing on to win the event before starting his A-Main venture from the inside of row 11.
Brown, who was forced to compete in the evening’s consolation B-Main after missing a heat race transfer position, would battle on to finish ninth in the $23,023-to-win showstopper, earning a $1,200 Hard Charger bonus for his efforts while simultaneously solidifying his fourth top-ten finish of the 2023 season.
“Our Casey’s/FVP No. 21 was great right off the trailer on Tuesday night at 34 Raceway, especially after opening up the night with the fastest car in hot laps. Things fell off some in qualifying, and although we had to run the B-Main, we kept focus and were able to rebound,” Brian Brown said. “We raced from 21st to tenth in the first 15 laps, but we ended up losing our brakes. Despite the issue, we were able to get by one more car to secure the Hard Charger Award. I’m confident we had a top-five car until the brake issue.”
Brown and his Casey’s, FVP, Andy's Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, HAWK Hunting, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 team would continue their recent week by joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, on Friday, April 28. The Higginsville, Missouri, native would battle with the best and finish 20th; he started 19th.
“Although we weren’t able to transfer our High Limit momentum into Friday’s visit to Tri-City Speedway, I’m positive we gathered enough notes to be ready for our next visit,” Brown added. “We’ll be at Granite City later this year with High Limit.”
ON DECK:
Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another busy week in the Midwest, kicking things off with a High Limit Sprint Car Series start at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on Wednesday, May 3, followed by back-to-back nights of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6.

Tyler Erb Bests The Bullring for MARS $5,000 Victory
LOLMDS Tripleheader Awaits
ST. MARYS, Ohio (05/01/23) – Tyler Erb etched his name into the winner’s column for the second time in 2023 with a Friday night triumph at the Brownstown Bullring. The $5,000 Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Super Late Model win came behind the wheel of his Bulk Material Lift / Anthony’s Pizza No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Sani-Weld Inc. / Base Racing Fuel / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engines Inc. Super Late Model.
“Had a solid night at the (Brownstown) Bullring on Friday and got the ‘W” and had a solid run in the feature going at Fairbury (Speedway) on Saturday until we broke,” Erb said. “Looking forward to finally getting back to Lucas Oil (Late Model Dirt Series) action this coming weekend. Thanks to everybody who supports us.”
With the tripleheader swing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) axed by wet weather, Tyler Erb took his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Super Late Model into battle with the MARS Late Models on Friday evening at Brownstown (Ill.) Bullring for the Diggin’ Dirt 40.
Drawing 37 Late Models for the tour opener, Erb claimed the fast-time honors in qualifying with a blistering 12.830-second lap before placing first in his heat race.
Turning back a charging Brandon Sheppard in the final circuits of the feature, Tyler rolled to his second win of the 2023 season, which came ahead of Sheppard, Shannon Babb, Brian Shirley, and Jason Feger. He earned $5,000 for his second-career MARS triumph.
For another $5,000-to-win program on Saturday evening at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, Tyler followed up the second-fastest lap in his time trial group with a second-place finish in his heat.
Rolling off seventh for the A-Main, Erb was sidelined on the 19th circuit with mechanical woes, cutting his weekend short.
Full results from the events are available at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.
Tyler now looks ahead to a tripleheader with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this Thursday – Saturday. Action opens with the $12,000-to-win Buckeye Spring 50 program at Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) on Thursday night before sliding into Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) on Friday evening for the $12,000-to-win, 19th annual John Bradshaw Memorial. The weekend draws to a close on Saturday evening with the $15,000-to-win 37th annual Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway.
