READY TO GO BOBIN’ AT BROWNSTOWN TO OPEN 2017 SEASON FOR ULTIMATE BoB

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARNESVILLE, GA – The ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series is set to open its second season on April 1 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN.  The top two drivers in the 2016 ULTIMATE BoB Tour are looking forward to starting the 2017 season at their home track.

Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN is the defending champion of the ULTIMATE BoB Series and he captured the title in his first season of hitting the road with a traveling series.  Hines will begin his sophomore season with a book full of notes and lessons learned going to different tracks on the tour.  For Hines, the highlight of the 2016 season was clinching the title at Brownstown Speedway.

“It felt great to clinch the championship here at my home track where my dad and my family have raced for years,” Hines said.  “It was a lot of fun to run the Ultimate BoB Series, as we traveled to five different states and I got to run at a lot of tracks I’ve never been to before.  My plan is to defend my title in 2017.”

A familiar face battled with Hines for the 2016 ULTIMATE BoB Championship, but Derek Fisher of Seymour, IN had to settle for second in the point standings.  Fisher, however, won a title of his own, as he earned the 2016 ULTIMATE BoB Rookie of the Year Award.  Like Hines, Fisher learned his racing skills at Brownstown Speedway.

In addition to Hines and Fisher, look for the series’ Brownstown Speedway track record holder Cody Mahoney of Hanover, IN, who toured the fast clay oval in 12.728 seconds on October 1, 2016.  Also expected for the ULTIMATE BoB season opener are Alan Magner of North Vernon, IN, Joe Godsey of Edinburgh, IN, Jared Bailey of Bedford, IN, and Chad Stapleton of Edinburgh, IN.

The ULTIMATE BoB Tour will also have a new Director for the 2017 season, as D.J. Irvine is ready for his first race with the series at Brownstown Speedway on April 1.  Irvine comes to the ULTIMATE BoB Series from Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY where he served as the Track Manager and Promoter.

“I'm ready to get the season underway,” Irvine said.  “I've built a great team that's ready to continue the Ultimate style of racing in the Bluegrass Region.  Getting a late start on the building the schedule has been difficult, but I'm working hard to finalize some dates with various tracks.  I’m looking forward to having an excellent second season for the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Late Model Series.  Looking to Brownstown, it's a great facility to open our season.  I hope the drivers and fans are as excited as we are to get 2017 rolling.”
