Boyd’s Speedway Set to Kick Off 2021 with 13th Annual Cabin Fever January 30 for Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (January 9, 2021) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will begin the 2021 racing season with a non-points racing event on Saturday January 30 at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA with the track’s 13th Annual Cabin Fever event, paying $4,000 to win for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series competitors. The event at Boyd’s will be the first for the track’s new owner Russell Racing.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will headline the 13th Annual Cabin Fever racing program on Saturday January 30, with a full program of practice, E-Z-GO time trials, VP Racing Fuels Makin’ Power heat races, and the 40 lap, $4,000 to win 13th Annual Cabin Fever main event. Joining the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series competitors in action at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday January 30 will be Crate Late Models ($1,500 to win), Sportsman 602 ($1,000 to win), Front Wheel Drives ($500 to win), B-Hobby ($400 to win), Beginner ($200 to win), and SM4MA Pony ($1,500 to win), with the event concluding with a 100 lap Enduro ($1,000) to win. There will be an open practice on Friday January 29 from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Activities for raceday on Saturday January 30 will see the pit area open at 9:00 a.m., with the general admission area opening at 10:00 a.m. The drivers meeting will be at 11:30 a.m., with practice laps set to begin following the drivers meeting. Ticket prices for the 13th Annual Cabin Fever event at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday January 30 in the general admission will be $20, with children ages 6 to 12 $5, while children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $40, with children ages 6 to 12 $15, and children ages 5 and under will be free. 

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350/1600/LM40 or American Racer 48/56 (any of these compounds anywhere on the car; NO droop rule; NO 29.0 size tires allowed on the left-rear). The entry fee is $100 and transponders will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the starting field of 22 cars will receive $50 tow money.
