COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Opens 2019 Campaign this Weekend
Texarkana 67 Speedway and Boothill Speedway on Deck

Conway, Arkansas (03/20/19) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil kicks off their 2019 campaign this weekend – March 22-23 – with events at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Arkansas) and Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana).

The 2019 season marks the 12th year of operation for the CCSDS. However, it marks the first year that the series will operate under the direction of brothers, Chris and Jack Sullivan.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get the season underway,” Jack Sullivan recently commented. “We’ve had a ton of support from both drivers and fans already. We’re definitely ready to hit the ground running.”

Sullivan was the 2018 and now four-time CCSDS Champion, but this year he moves into the series director’s roll with the tour.

“I’m sure it’s going to feel odd not being in the driver’s seat at the first few races, but my focus right now is on helping this series succeed and grow,” Sullivan continued. “I’ll still be racing two dozen or so races this year when the CCSDS has off weekend, so that will feed my need for driving.”

With Sullivan out of the fold for the title a strong contingent of drivers are chomping at the bit to chase the title in 2019. Included in the contenders for the $10,000 championship are former CCSDS champs, Jon Mitchell (2012) and Kyle Beard (2013, 2014). A host of hungry drivers are looking to get their first titles this year, including Brian Rickman, B.J. Robinson, Robert Baker, Gavin Landers, Hunter Rasdon, David Payne, Jake Davis, Charlie Cole, Zach McMillan, Morgan Bagley, Timothy Culp, Chad Mallett, Scott Crigler, Scott Dedwylder, and more.

The 2019 Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year field will begin to take form once the opening weekend is completed. Drivers will be chasing a $1,500 prize for the coveted title.

The 2019 CCSDS campaign comes to life on Friday, March 22 at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Arkansas). It will mark the tour’s first event at the ¼-mile oval in several years. A $2,500-to-win/ $400-to-start program, which is presented by W&W Timber, is on tap for the opener. The program also includes Hobby Stocks ($750-to-win), 4-Cylinders, Factory Stocks, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Southern SportMods and IMCA Modifieds.
