Eighth Annual Pelican 50 on Deck for CCSDS
$4,000-To-Win/ $500-To-Start Up for Grabs this Saturday, May 5
Beebe, Arkansas (04/30/18) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) is set to thunder into Gene Boyter’s Ark-La-Tex Speedway this Saturday night for the eighth annual Pelican 50.
The night will be headlined by a $4,000-to-win/ $500-to-start finale.
“Ark-La-Tex Speedway is just one of those places that never seems to disappoint, and we are really excited to be sanctioning the Pelican 50 this year,” CCSDS CEO Chris Ellis said. “Drivers love the place, and fans love the place. It should e a barnburner this Saturday night!”
Three-time and defending series champion Jack Sullivan resides atop the standings by 14 markers, which makes him the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man heading into Saturday’s event. He’s closely pursued by Robert Baker, Hunter Rasdon, B.J. Robinson and Robby Moore.
Gavin Landers, Tanner Kellick, Kyle Beard, Austin Theiss, and David Payne round out the current Top 10 in the latest series standings.
The Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle is a good one with Robbie Moore and Tanner Kellick deadlocked atop the battle. Austin Theiss, Travis Ashley, and Jake Davis round out the rookie competition.
This Saturday, May 5 the CCSDS competitors will chase a $4,000 top prize during the eighth annual Pelican 50. Qualifying, heat races, b-mains, and the 50-lap finale will all be on tap.
Factory Stocks, Limited Modifieds, ProMods, and FWD 4-Cylinders will also be part of the evening’s program.
The evening’s action is slated to get underway at 7:00 p.m.
