Magnolia State Invasion on Tap for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series

Little Rock, Arkansas (05/10/17) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil will venture to the Magnolia State this weekend – May 12-13 – for a pair of big events.

Heading into the state of Mississippi is no easy feat as the area boasts a stiff contingent of local drivers. Two-time and defending series champion, Jack Sullivan will once again be the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man as he leads the CCSDS contingent into battle. Currently residing atop the standings he’ll be sporting the florescent day-glow orange spoiler.

Garrett Alberson, Kyle Beard, Jon Mitchell, BJ Robinson, Zach McMillan, Tanner Kellick, Gavin Landers, Hunter Rasdon, Robert Baker currently round out the Top 10 in series standings.

With six events completed on the 2017 CCSDS season, four drivers have visited Victory Lane. Sullivan leads the way with a trio of wins, while Kyle Beard, Timothy Culp, and Tim McCreadie each have a single triumph on the season.

The Rookie of the Year battle is currently led by Zach McMillan, who holds a four-point advantage over Louisiana’s Tanner Kellick. Brandon Wilson is in third, eight points removed from the lead.

The weekend opens on Friday night with the first of three appearances by the tour in 2017 at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). In 2016 Hunter Rasdon took two series wins at the facility, while Bub McCool won the other event. The program will include time trials, heat race action, b-mains, a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start feature. NeSmith Crate Late Models, NeSmith Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks will all be in action. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $10 for kids (ages 6-to-14), and free for ages 5 and under. Pit admission is $35 with kids (6-to-14) $10, and ages 5 and under free. Racing action starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the facility, please visit www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net .

Saturday night takes the tour to Johnny Stokes’ Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), where a $2,500-to-win/$350-to-start purse will be on the line. In 2016 Hunter Rasdon and Rick Rickman split wins at the tricky surface, which is known as the “Black Ice.” A full slate of action, including time trials, heat races, b-mains, and a 40-lap feature will be contested. NeSmith Late Models, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Late Model Sportsman will also be on the card. Grandstand admission is $20 with kids (ages 10-and-under) free. Pit admission is $35 for adults with kids (ages 6-10) $25, and kids (5-and-under) free with a paying adult.
