Mason Oberkramer Claims CCSDS Triumph at Legit Speedway Park
Old No. 1 Speedway and I-30 Speedway Up Next
West Plains, Missouri (07/27/19) – Saturday night’s COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil saw a first-time winner for the second time in as many nights.
After seeing fellow Show-Me State driver claim top honors on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway, Broseley, Missouri’s Mason Oberkramer streaked to his first-career CCSDS victory on Saturday night at Legit Speedway Park.
Oberkramer made a clean sweep of the program with Mark Martin Automotive Fast Time honors in qualifications followed by a heat race win and ultimately the $3,000 feature victory from the New Vision Graphics Pole Position.
“This is just an unbelievable feeling. We’ve been working so hard to get one of these touring wins and tonight my team gave me a great car and I did my job,” Oberkramer said. “I couldn’t be any happier right now, and hopefully this is the first of many to come.”
While Oberkramer paced the field throughout the 40-lapper, he had to withstand challenges from Kyle Beard at various points throughout the event. Beard briefly fell back to third before overtaking Jackson Jr. to claim the runner-up spot at the checkered flag.
Jackson Jr., Raymond Merrill and Timothy Culp completed the Top-5 finishers.
The busy stretch of action for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series continues next weekend – August 2-3 – with an Arkansas double shot. On Friday night a $2,500-to-win/ $400-to-start program is slated for Old NO. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) and on Saturday night a $5,000-to-win/ $500-to-start race is on tap at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) as the annual Will McGary Tribute is featured.
The tire rule for both events is a Hoosier 1350 on all four corners with a Hoosier LM40 option for the right-rear only.
