COMP Cams Super Dirt Series to Embark on Three-Day Holiday Swing
Riverside International Speedway Replaces Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday Night
CONWAY, Ark. (08/29/22) – Next on deck for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil is a three-race swing spanning Friday through Sunday of the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
Action opens on Friday night at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway before moving to Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night and concluding on Sunday evening at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
Saturday’s event at Riverside International Speedway was originally slated to be held at Jackson Motor Speedway but flooding at the Mississippi oval forced the event to be moved.
All three events post a $3,000 top prize and $400 to start.
“This Labor Day swing will be fun because all three tracks have distinctly different characteristics, and with this caliber of driver it’s fun to watch them adapt to the differing conditions each night,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan said. “I hated to see Jackson (Motor Speedway) have to cancel due to flooding, but we look forward to getting back there in October for the All American 60.”
As the tour enters the home stretch of the 2022 season, the Top-3 racers in series points are all seeking their first championship. Brian Rickman enters the weekend as the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year point leader with a 76-marker advantage over Morgan Bagley and an 88-point lead on B.J. Robinson.
Two-time series champion Kyle Beard sits fourth in the standings followed by current Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year point leader, Tyler Stevens in fifth. Mason Oberkramer, Scott Crigler, Logan Martin, Hunter Rasdon, Jon Kirby, Brandon Carpenter, Dean Carpenter, and David Payne round out the latest series standings.
Action opens on Friday at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Ark.) with the series only appearance of the season at the ¼-mile oval. Morgan Bagley won the lone CCSDS race at the Trent Francis’ promoted oval in 2021.
Joining the CCSDS contingent on the card for the Labor Day Classic are Topless Factory Stocks and Big Jimmy Cup 305 Sprint Cars.
Adult grandstand admission is $20 with kids $10 and children (ages 5-and-under) free. Pit passes are $35.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps are 7:00 p.m. with racing action at 7:30 p.m..
Action shifts south down I-55 on Saturday night to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.). The facility lost an CCSDS event due to rain earlier this year. In 2021 Neil Baggett won a thriller at the famed, ¼-mile oval.
Also in action will be the 305 c.i. MSCA Winged Sprint Cars competing in the sixth annual Jimmy Huffman Memorial along with Modifieds, Mini Sprints, and Stock Cars
