Mike Palasini Jr. Claims First COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Win
Greenville Speedway Sunday Finale Up Next

Greenville, Mississippi (09/01/18) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil sanctioned the opening round of a doubleheader on Saturday night at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway, and it was local standout Mike Palasini Jr. who streaked to his first-career win with the tour.

The Leland, Mississippi driver started on the New Vision Graphics Pole Position for the $2,500-to-win feature and overtook early leader Brian Rickman on the 10th circuit on his to his maiden win with the series. Palasini Jr. won by over two second aboard the Doug Showah Motorsport No. D8.

Current Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man Jack Sullivan added to his advantage atop the series standings with a runner-up finish. B.J. Robinson, Rick Rickman, and Brian Rickman completed the Top-5 finishers.

Jack Sullivan received the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award for his performance in the feature, while David Payne was the recipient of the Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award after a broken motor ended his night.

The second night of the CCSDS doubleheader at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) will be held on Sunday night. The finale on Sunday night’s will see a $2,000-to-win/ $350-to-start purse. Durrence Layne Late Models, Durrence Layne Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Outlaw Hobbies will contest a complete show with the MSCA 305 Sprint Cars racing for a $1,000 top prize.

Sunday adult grandstand admission is $20 with senior citizens (ages 55-and-older) $10 with kids (ages 6-to-14) $5 and children (ages 5-and-under) free.

Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids (ages 6-to-14) $10 and children (5-and) free.

The pits open at 3:00 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Racing action starts at 7:00 p.m.
