CHEVY SUPER SERIES OPENS ITS SIXTH SEASON AT BOYDS AND NORTH GEORGIA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will open its sixth season this weekend at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Friday night with a $2,000-to-win race, and on Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA with a $3,000-to-win race. Many of the top drivers from Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida will be there.

The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series is a unique series in that it features dirt late model race cars powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance CT525 Circle Track Engine built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. The engine is based off the production LS3 engine that comes in the Corvette and the Camaro.

The all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT525 racing engine can be purchased for $7,100 and $9,950 with the start-up accessory kit from Durrence Layne Chevrolet, Buick GMC in Claxton, GA with free next-day delivery anywhere in the Southeast. The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series is also the only Dirt Late Model Series to be branded by a major automobile manufacturer.

When the Chevy Super Series hits historic Boyd’s Speedway this Friday night and North Georgia Speedway this Saturday night, the driver roster will feature Hall of Famers, former series National Champions, former Cruise With The Champions Rookies of the Year, and many more.

Devin Dixon of Apollo Beach, FL will be back to defend his 2017 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Championship. Dixon was also the 2017 Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year with the Chevy Super Series. Dixon will be trying to become only the second driver in Chevy Super Series history to win back-to-back titles.

The only driver to win back-to-back Chevy Super Series National Championships in 2014 and 2015 will be back to compete for his third title in 2017. National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN will start his quest for a third championship at his home track, Boyd’s Speedway on Friday night, and he is just as at home on Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway.

Rome, GA has become a hot bed for Chevy Super Series competitors led by last year’s National Championship Runner-Up Jake Knowles. The second-generation driver will lead another second-generation driver Austin Smith, plus Zach Pilcher and Scott Hall, down Highway 411, to Cartersville, GA where Dale Thurman and Rodney Martin will join the convoy to Ringgold, GA and Chatsworth, GA.

Add to the mix Joseph Brown of Columbus, GA, Landon Bagby of Lithia Springs, GA, Ryan King of Anniston, AL, Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA, Chase King of Seymour, TN, and Oliver Gentry of Newnan, GA and you have the makings of a very competitive weekend of racing.
