NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN WEEK 7 ROUND UP

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The battle continues for the 2020 Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National Championship as the contenders continued their winning ways during Week 7 action. Current point leader Brett White of Kosciusko, MS picked up the win on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS to retain the top spot in the national points.

            Young driver JC Wilson of Milton, FL notched a third place finish in Saturday night action at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL to take the second spot, while Anniston, AL driver Ryan King was once again in victory lane at Talladega Short Track on Saturday night and currently sits third in the national points.

Levi Aldridge is fourth in points after his fourth-place finish at ECM Speedway in Bremen, AL on Saturday night, while Dale Lucas rounds out the top 5 in the national point standings.

Sherman Everette had some issues during Saturday night action at ECM Speedway with a DNS for the feature, but remains in the top ten in sixth place, followed by fellow ECM regular Heather Lowe who finished eighth at ECM to place her currently seventh in the standings.

Eighth in the points belongs to Preston Walden who finished eighth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Dewayne Morris currently sets in the night position after a third-place finish in action at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. ECM Speedway’s Saturday night winner, Sam Ramsey, used his win to slip into the top 10 of the national standings at the end of Week 7 action.
              
              In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 7 action, third generation driver Jarrett Miller picked up his first win at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL parking his number 91 machine in the same victory lane that was visited by both is dad Jon and grandfather Dicky. Rod Tucker was the Friday night winner at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA. Kevin Mitchell parked his 99 machine in Deep South Speedway Victory Lane marking his first sanctioned victory of 2020, and Brandon Kilpatrick took the win in Saturday night action at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL notching his first win in the Late Model Sportsman Division for 2020.

            Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES MODIFIED SPORTSMAN WEEK 7 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 7 of the 2020 Weekly Racing Season is in the books and a name familiar to the top of the point standings, Scottie Hiett, added another win to his record Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL and remains at the top of the leader board. He is followed by 2019 National Champion Luke Riddle, of Hartselle, AL who has moved into the second spot following action in Week 7.

Seth Johnston moves to third in the national point standings following a sixth-place finish at North Alabama Speedway on Saturday night, and fellow North Alabama Speedway regular Ron Bailey sets solidly in fifth of the point standings.

              Jammie Gowers of Vincent, AL finished second on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track to secure his spot at fifth in the national points, while Paul Poe of Ragland, AL took a seventh place finish at TST to rest in sixth place in the points. Blake Swann finished fifth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track and sits seventh in the point standings.

               Josh Salisbury was eighth on Saturday night at Talladega and that keeps him in the eighth spot of the points, while Tim Staples was not in action during Week 7 and slides to ninth in the standings. Tracy Terrell took third at North Alabama Speedway to round out the current top 10 in national point standings.

              In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Week 7 action, Sam Hughes picked up the win at ECM Speedway in Bremen, AL, while Jason Byrd took the checkered flag at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. Oakley Gillespie was the winner of Saturday night action at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, and Eric Hickerson drove the #11 Gray Racing Modified to the win at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN on Saturday and will be a driver to watch as the season progresses.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES STREET STOCK WEEK 7 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock action for Week 7 is complete, and Gary Tucker of Fayetteville, TN still hangs on to the top spot following an eighth-place finish at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN. Kaleb Vandygriff of Mount Pleasant, TN used his third place finish at Thunderhill to move into the second spot.

               Carl Stanley Kilgore of Greenville, MS now sits third in national points following a runner up finish Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, MS. J.R. Brown finished ninth at Magnolia Motor Speedway to put him in fourth of the standings at the conclusion of Week 7, while Nathan Taylor rounds out the top five in points after his tenth place finish at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS.

               Sixth spot belongs to the Friday night winner at Hattiesburg Speedway, Ricky Idom, while fellow Mississippi drive Lee Ray sits seventh after his fourth-place effort at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. Michael Rodrigue(Fieldmouse) has moved solidly into the top 10 in eighth following another win at Pike County Speedway on Saturday night.
               
               Another Pike County Speedway regular, Landen Jackson, is in ninth place following a finish of fourth on Saturday night, while Noel Bailey will finish off the current top 10 in points after his fourth place finish at ECM Speedway in Bremen, AL on Saturday night.
