HURRICANE LAURA POSTPONES NORTH ALABAMA SPEEDWAY KING OF THE CRATES

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – North Alabama Speedway and Crate Racin’ USA Officials have mutually agreed to postpone this weekend’s 4th Annual “King of Crate” event due to unfavorable forecasts resulting from the effects of Hurricane Laura. The event at the Tuscumbia, AL clay oval has been tentatively reset for September 11th paying $2,000-to-win and September 12th, paying $3,000-to-win.
Track and Series officials consulted with and reviewed the local and national forecasts and the chances of getting both nights of the event completed were unfavorable and the decision was made to keep race teams from making unnecessary travel. heavy rains have already fallen this week, and the forecast calls for more ahead of the weekend forcing officials to make the call to postpone.
“We had hoped that the forecasted track and impact from the hurricane would lean more favorable for this weekend, but with the impact of heavy rains already this week only to be followed by more, we had to make this tough decision,” Crate Racin’ USA Series Director Adam Stewart said.  “North Alabama Speedway Promotor Brian Mitchell reached out and wanted to make sure we made a decision that made the least impact on the race teams that would be traveling and to try and give them both nights of the event.
“Making the decision is not an easy one, but with the impact this storm could have on some of the teams that might be traveling and the probability of not getting the event complete we felt it best to go ahead and do so,” Stewart said.  “We hope to see everyone on the 11th and 12th, and hope they make the trip to Cochran Speedway next weekend for the $20,000 to win World Championship event.”
