NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN WEEK 13 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Ryan King of Anniston, AL became the first Crate Racin’ USA driver of 2020 to race to a Perfect Season in Week 13 action for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division. King drove the David King Automotive Special to his 11th 50-point win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. That gives King a Perfect Score of 550 points.

              However, it is a little early to put the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National Championship champaign on ice. There are still eight weeks to go in the 2020 season, and Brett White of Kosciusko, MS is one-point away from putting together a Perfect Season of his own. White finished fifth at TST on Saturday night and failed to net on a 49.

              One more 50-point win will also give White a best 11-week total of 550 points represented by 11 50-point wins. Then we will go to the tiebreaker to determine the 2020 Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National Champion. The tiebreaker is the most 50-point wins. If that ends up in a tie, it goes to the most 49-points second-place finishes, and so on.

              J.C. Wilson of Milton, FL is third in the Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National points with a best 11-week total of 526 points and Sherman Everett of Morris, AL is fourth with a best 11-week total of 518 points. Wilson and Everett did not compete in Week 13 action. 

              Caleb Coan of Courtland, AL is fifth in the Late Model Sportsman standings with a best 11-week total of 517 points. Coan finished eighth on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN to net on a 41 and gain two points. Levi Aldridge of Double Springs, AL also had an eighth-place finish at Talladega Short Track to net on a 41 and gain two points. Aldridge is sixth in the standings with a best 11-week total of 506 points.

              Tony Chaney of Tuscumbia, AL and Brandon Crosby of Anniston, AL are tied for seventh in the National standings, as each driver has a best 11-week total of 503 points. Chaney did not compete in Week 13 action and Crosby finished second at Talladega Short Track in his last week to earn full points.

              Ryan Wilson of Margaret, AL is ninth in the standings with a best 11-week total of 500 points. Wilson used his last week to earn full points to turn in a third-place finish at Talladega Short Track. Dale Lucas of McKenzie, AL rounds out the Top 10 of the Late Model Sportsman standings with a best 11-week total of 499 points. Lucas did not compete in Week 13 action.

              In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racing USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 13 action, Colton Roberts drove the Roberts Racing Special to his third straight win on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park, and Claude Brewer took a 40-point win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS in the Brewer Racing Special.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES STREET STOCK WEEK 13 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Carl Kilgore of Greenville, MS drove the Lee’s Body Shop Special to his seventh win of the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. Week 13 was hampered by remnants of Hurricane Laura, as eight of 12 races on the schedule were rained out.

              Kilgore now has a best 11-week total of 544 points, as he was able to net on a 42 and gain eight points on his season total. Kilgore has a three-point lead in the Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock National point standings over the 2018 Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS. 

            Idom finished second to Kilgore on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway to net on a 40 and gain nine points to bring his best 11-week total to 541 points in the Weekly Racing Series Street Stock National standings.

              Lee Ray of Columbus, MS is third in the Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock standings with a best 11-week total of 530 points and Dannon LaCoste of Theriot, LA is fourth with a best 11-week total of 518 points. Both Ray and LaCoste did not compete in Week 13 action.

              Landen Jackson of Norco, LA is fifth in the Street Stock National standings with a best 11-week total of 506 points. Jackson finished third at Jackson Motor Speedway to net on a 25 and gain 23 points on his season total. 

            Gary Tucker of Fayetteville, NC and Caiden Jackson of Norco, LA are tied for sixth with each driver having a best 11-week total of 493 points. Tucker finished 11th on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN to net on a 35 and gain six points on his season total. Caiden Jackson finished fifth at Jackson Motor Speedway to net on a 25 and gain 21 points.

Clayton Kilgore of Greenville, MS is eighth in the Street Stock National standings with a best 11-week total of 486 points, and J. R. Brown of Calera, AL is ninth with a best 11-week total of 470 points. Clayton Kilgore and Brown did not compete in Week 13 action. Richard Zeller of LaPlace, LA rounds out the top ten of the Street Stock standings using his last week to earn full points to bring his 11-week total to 466 points.

               ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The defending Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS has taken over the point lead after an abbreviated Week 13 schedule. Remnants of Hurricane Laura raced across the Southeast over the weekend and washed out nine of 13 races.

              Lee finished seventh on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS to earn 44 points and net on a 25. The 19 points Lee earned brought his best 11 weekly race point total to 536. Lee holds a one-point advantage over Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN. Skinner finished fifth on Saturday night at Duck Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN and failed to net on a 46.

              Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL is third in the Weekly Racing Series National standings with a best 11-week total of 527 points. Mitchell did not compete in Week 13 action. Tootie Arnold of Meadeville, MS moved up to fourth in the standings with a best 11-week total of 522 points after driving the Trading Post Wrecker Service Special to the win at Jackson Motor Speedway. Arnold was able to net on a 40 and gain ten points.

              Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is fifth in the Late Model National standings with a best 11-week total of 521 points. Idom finished fourth on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway and net on a 41 to gain six points. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS used his last week to earn full points to turn in a second-place finish at Jackson Motor Speedway and climb to sixth in the standings with a best 11-week total of 512 points.

              Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is seventh in the Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model standings with a best 11-week total of 511 points. Combs gained 11 points after a third-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and netting on a 37. 

              Seth McCormack of Muscle Shoals, AL finished second at Talladega Short Track in his final week to earn full points and land in the eighth spot of the Late Model National standings with an 11-week total of 510 points. Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN did not compete in Week 13 action and is ninth with a best 11-week total of 498 points.

              Josh Amacher of Tullahoma, TN rounds out the Top 10 of the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model standings with a best 11-week total of 483 points. Amacher had a 12-place finish on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park and was unable to net on a 41.
