              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL leads the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman National point standings after Week 5 competition. Hiett finished second on Friday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL to bring his season total to 248 points.

              Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN is second in the Newsome Raceway Parts Modified Sportsman National standings with 242 points. Johnston finished fourth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL.

              The defending Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National Champion Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL drove the Morgan Machine Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a $1,000 victory on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL. Riddle is third in the National standings with 240 points.

              Tim Staples of Pell City, AL picked up the win on Friday night at Talladega Short Track driving the Glass Works Plus Special with Chevrolet Performance 602 power. Staples is fourth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with 234 points. Billy Wilkins is fifth in the standings with 226 points after a fifth place on Saturday night at ECM Speedway.

              Ron Bailey of Harvest, AL finished eighth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and he is sixth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with 223 points. Corey Pressley of Anniston, AL is seventh in the standings with 220 points after a third-place finish on Friday night at Talladega Short Track.

              Jamie Gowers of Vincent, AL finished fifth on Friday night at Talladega Short Track to hold the eighth spot in the Modified Sportsman National standings with 216 points. Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL is ninth with 213 points after finishing 15th on Friday night at Talladega Short Track. Paul Poe of Ragland, AL finished 20th on Friday night at Talladega Short Track and rounds out the top ten in the National standings with 211 points.

              In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Week 5 action, Chuckie Gipson of Tuscumbia, AL took the win on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway. Rain washed out Saturday night Week 5 action at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN WEEK 5 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Brett White of Kosciusko, MS drove the Attala Steel Rocket to his fourth win of the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman season on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, MS. White continues to lead the National standings with 249 points.

              Ryan King of Anniston, AL kept pace with White, as he won his fifth race of the season on Friday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the David King Automotive Special. King is second in the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman National standings with 248 points.

              Late arriving results have moved J.C. Wilson of Milton, FL in the third spot of the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 236 points. Wilson finished third on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.  Sherman Everette of Morris, AL is fourth in the National standings with 229 points after a third-place finish on Saturday night at ECM Speedway.

              Levi Aldridge of Double Springs, AL finished seventh on Saturday night at ECM Speedway to bring him into the fifth spot of the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman National standings with 224 points. Brandon Crosby is sixth with 219 points after a seventh-place finish on Friday night at Talladega Short Track.

              Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL finished eighth on Friday night at Talladega Short Track and is seventh in the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 216 points after Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Week 5 action. Preston Walden of Gardendale, AL is tied with Wayne Tidwell for the eighth spot in the standings with 205 points apiece.

              Walden finished 14th on Friday night at Talladega Short Track and Tidwell took the 11th spot on Saturday night at ECM Speedway. Dewayne Morris rounds out the top ten in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman National standings with 199 points. Morris finished fifth on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES STREET STOCK WEEK 5 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 5 for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock Division saw six of eight races rained out. That has caused some big changes in the point standings. Gary Tucker of Fayetteville, TN has taken over the point lead in the National standings.

            Tucker earned 41 points after a 14th-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN to bring his total up to 227 points. Keenan Vandygriff of Mount Pleasant, TN finished second on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park to move up to the second spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock National standings with 221 points.

Kaleb Vandygriff of Mount Pleasant, TN moved up to the third spot in the Street Stock National standings with 219 points after a sixth-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park. J.R. Brown of Calera, AL is fourth with 217 points. Brown finished seventh on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL.

Noel Bailey of Lacy Springs, AL finished fifth on Saturday night at ECM Speedway to move up to the fifth spot in the Street Stock National standings with 208 points. Krista Travis of Murfreesboro, TN is sixth with 206 points after a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park.

Kenneth Faulkner of Columbia, TN is seventh in the Street Stock National standings with 198 points after a 16th-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park. The final three drivers in the top ten of the point standings did not get to turn a wheel in Week 5 Street Stock competition due to Mother Nature.

The 2018 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS and Carl Kilgore of Greenville, MS are tied for the eighth spot with 196 points apiece. Lee Ray of Columbus, MS rounds out the top ten of the National Street Stock standings with 194 points.

NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES LATE MODEL WEEK 5 ROUND UP

               ADAIRSVILLE, GA – With half of the Week 5 races being rained out for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division, there was a big shift in the point standings. The Mitchell Brothers of Russellville, AL are one-two in the National point standings after Week 5 action.

              Braden Mitchell finished third on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL and finished the week with 237 points. Bryson Mitchell finished tenth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and is in the second spot with 235 points. 

            Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS traveled to Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, LA where he finished 20th to earn 41 points, but it was 41 points that left him in the third spot in the National point standings with 234 points. Shane Echols of Fayetteville, TN is fourth in the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model standings with 226 points after a third-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN.

Dustin Harris of Flintville, TN, and Shannon Davis both did not start at Duck River Raceway Park on Friday night, but the 25 points they each earned moved them up to fifth and sixth respectively in the points chase. Harris has 218 points and Davis has 214 points.

The defending Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS did not turn a wheel during Week 5 competition because of rainouts. That dropped Lee to the seventh spot in the standings with 199 points. Josh Amacher used an eighth-place finish on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park to bring his total to 199 points and tie with Lee for the seventh spot.

Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN also did not compete in Week 5 Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model action and dropped to the ninth spot with 197 points. Stephen Brantley of Monroeville, AL finished fourth on Friday night at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL to move into the tenth spot with 194 points.

Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 5 winners were Bo Slay of Milton, FL in the Slay’s Mobile Home Service Special on Friday night at Deep South Speedway and Chase Walls of Decherd, TN took the victory on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park in the Live Pure CVR.

Friday night Week 5 Weekly Racing Series Late Model Rain Outs were at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS and Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. The Co-Sanctioned Friday night race with NCRA at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, KS was cancelled due to COVID 19 concerns.

Tracy Denby Jr. of Vidor, TX was the Saturday night winner at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, LA. Billy Flannagan Jr. Tuscumbia, AL drove the Alabama Bands Warrior to victory on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway.

              Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total. The 2020 National Champion will earn $10,000.
