NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES MODIFIED SPORTSMAN WEEK 4 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL was the big winner in Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Week 4 action, as he took the win in the only race of the weekend on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the East Alabama Truck Repair Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Engine.

              The win gave Hiett the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman point lead with a four-point advantage over Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN, who finished third on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track. The defending National Champion Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL dropped to the third spot in the National standings.   

            Riddle battled side-by-side with Hiett for the lead early in the race, but an off-track excursion sent Riddle to the back of the pack. Riddle came back to savage a tenth-place finish. Hiett is on top of the Modified Sportsman National standings with 199 points after his third win of the 22-week season. Johnston is second with 195 points, and Riddle is third with 190 points.

Tim Staples of Pell City, AL is fourth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with 184 points after finishing second on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track. Ron Bailey of Harvest, AL and Billy Wilkins are tied for the fifth spot with 180 points. Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL and Corey Pressley of Anniston, AL are tied for the seventh spot with 172 points apiece.

Paul Poe of Ragland, AL and Jamie Gowers of Vincent, AL are tied for the ninth spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National points with 170 points apiece. Saturday night Week 4 Modified Sportsman action was rained out at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN and Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL.

              Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count their best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Brett White of Kosciusko, MS drove the Attala Steel Rocket to his third Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. The victory put White on top of the National points after Week 4 competition.

              White has a one-point lead over Ryan King of Anniston, AL, who finished third on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the David King Automotive Special. White has 199 points to 198 for King. Tody Ratcliff of Meridian, MS is third in the National standings with 184 points and Sherman Everette of Morris, Al is fourth with 181 points.

              Levi Aldridge of Double Springs, AL is fifth in the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman National standings with 180 points, while Zack Owens and Brandon Crosby of Anniston, AL are tied for the sixth spot with 175 points apiece. Colton Roberts is eighth with 174 points and Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL is ninth with 173 points. Jake Hollis of Anniston, AL rounds out the top ten in the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 167 points.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – When Week 4 action in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock Division was complete, the National standings showed a tie for the lead between the 2018 National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS and Carl Kilgore IV of Greenville, MS.

              Idom came home with a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS in the Tri-State Rock and Rails Special and Kilgore drove the Lee’s Body Shop Special to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. Idom and Kilgore have 196 points apiece.

              Lee Ray of Columbus, MS closed in on the lead duo after winning on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Ray Racing Special. The victory brought Ray up to the third spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock National standings with 194 points.

              Billy Walker is in the fourth spot with 192 points and Landen Jackson of Norco, LA is fifth with 187 points. Mark Thorne is sixth with 185 points and Dannon LaCoste is seventh with 184 points. Michael Rodrigue is eighth with 183 points and Caiden Jackson is ninth with 180 points. J.R.               Lee now has 199 points to lead the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Late Model standings after Week 4 competition. Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN picked up his third win of the season on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN driving the Dixon Plumbing Rocket and is now second in the Late Model National Weekly points chase with 197 points.

              Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS went into Week 4 action as the point leader, but a seventh-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS dropped him to the third spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Late Model standings with 193 points. Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS is fourth with 191 points, and Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is fifth with 190 points.
