Kyle Beard Conquers MSCCS Super Late Model Opener at Jackson
COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Double Header Up Next

Trumann, Arkansas (03/18/19) – Capitalizing on the momentum that he started his season with in Arizona back in January, Kyle Beard piloted his Gary Beard Trucking #86 Black Diamond Race Car/ Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first win of the season on Saturday night.

Beard’s triumph was worth $3,000 and came with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Models at Jackson Motor Speedway.

“We’ve been really good at Jackson in the past. I knew we were bringing a really good car, and that if I did my job in the driver’s seat, we had a good shot at winning,” Beard said. “From the time that we unloaded, the car was awesome. I won’t lie that I got a little nervous when that caution came out with two to go because these Mississippi guys are tough to beat, and you hate to give them another chance to make a run. Luckily everything worked out, and we got the win.”

Saturday night saw Kyle Beard return to action at Jackson Motor Speedway (Jackson, Mississippi), where he entered the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) season opener. In qualifications, Beard registered the fastest time overall before finishing third in the dash.

Rolling off third for the main event, Kyle eventually slipped past polesitter Rick Rickman to grab the lead in the 40 lapper. Beard looked to be on his way to a comfortable win before a late-race caution set up a two-lap dash to the checkers. Kyle was able to keep the field at bay to pick up his first win of the season and a $3,000 payday. Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Dean Carpenter, and Brett White trailed him to the checkers.

This weekend – March 22-23 – Kyle Beard Motorsports will kick off the 2019 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) campaign with a pair of events. Donald McIntosh Races to Emotional Victory at Dixie Speedway

Dawsonville, Georgia (03/18/19) – Saturday night’s $5,000 victory in the 50th Anniversary Southeastern Classic at Georgia’s Dixie Speedway was meaningful to Donald McIntosh on multiple levels. Not only did it represent his first victory of the season, but it also was his first triumph with a car and engine combo that he and his dad have been developing for over a year.

“Man words can’t begin to describe what this win meant to me and my dad,” McIntosh revealed after picking up the win in his family-owned and Buick-powered No. 7 007 Race Car. “When we started working with this Buick engine last year a lot of people laughed at us, and it hasn’t been easy, but we finally got it running the way that we knew it could.

“I definitely have to thank Vic Hill Race Engines for their help because they let us come up and dyno this prototype motor at their place. It allowed us to fine tune it. It’s definitely been a labor of love, but it’s definitely been worth it. I think the coolest thing is that I raced asphalt for several years, and their rules would’ve never let us try something like this. However, in dirt track racing you can try different things, and that’s really awesome.”

With a scheduled off weekend with Blount Motorsports, Donald McIntosh headed into battle in his family-owned entry on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia). In a field of 23 cars, McIntosh registered the seventh-fastest time in qualifying, locking him into the seventh-starting position for the main event.

Overtaking Shane Clanton for the lead on lap-21, McIntosh built more than a 4-second advantage throughout the remainder of the race to capture his first win of the season and a $5,000 payday. Clanton, Austin Horton, Tyler Millwood, and Cla Knight completed the Top-5 finishers in the 50-lap affair.
“When we joined forces with Blount Motorsports for this year, we worked out a deal where I could still run my personal car some to try and get it figured out,” McIntosh noted. “I greatly appreciate everyone with that team, and I’m looking forward to getting back in the driver’s seat with them this coming weekend in Georgia. Hopefully we can add a couple of wins to the season’s tally.”

For full results from the event, please visit www.DixieSpeedway.com .

This weekend, McIntosh returns to the driver’s seat of the Blount Excavating #7 Stowers CAT/ Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model with a pair of Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals event. Action opens on Friday night at Oglethorpe Speedway Park (Pooler, Georgia) before shifting to Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Georgia).

Rico Abreu continues Outlaw West Coast Swing with top-tens in Chico and Stockton

Date: Friday, March 15th
Event: Silver Dollar Shootout presented by Riebes NAPA AUTO PARTS
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Silver Dollar Speedway (Chico, Calif.)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 10th (6th)

Date: Saturday, March 16th
Event: FVP Platinum Battery Showdown
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Stockton Dirt Track (Stockton, Calif.)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 6th (14th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (March 18, 2019) – Rico Abreu’s weekend in his home state of California was a success, officially terminating his streak of poor luck with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series by securing back-to-back top-ten performances during starts at Silver Dollar Speedway and Stockton Dirt Track.

Although impressive, finishing tenth and sixth, respectively, during his World of Outlaws starts at Silver Dollar and Stockton, Abreu was forced to do things the hard way all weekend, actually rallying from last on Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway, all before losing a handful of positions on Saturday as the result of a spin while battling for a position inside the top-five.

“It was a wild weekend, but we recovered and that’s the bottom line,” Rico Abreu explained, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Southern Pacific Farms/Lucas Oil Products/Priority Aviation/No. 24 sprint car. “We keep getting better and better each weekend. We had a few recent starts that we needed to shake off, but now we have some positive momentum on our side. All we can do now is take advantage of that momentum.”

Rico Abreu’s visit to Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday, March 15, was on pace to be flawless. After qualifying first within his group, and winning his respective heat race, Abreu moved on and finished sixth during the evening’s dash, thus allowing the St. Helena, Calif., native to start sixth on the feature grid.

While battling for a position well-inside the top-ten, Abreu made contact with fellow Californian, Tim Kaeding, on lap six. The contact resulted in Abreu coming to a stop, thus forcing the familiar No. 24 to restart at the tail of the field. Although frustrated, Abreu kept his composure and bounced back for a top-ten, ultimately crossing under the final checkers tenth in the running order.

In a similar scenario on Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track, Abreu was on the tail end of charge from 14th to sixth when he lost the handle and spun in turns three and four. Luckily, Abreu never lost momentum nor came to a stop, allowing the former World of Outlaws winner to blend back into the running order with only half of the laps in the books. Abreu recovered quickly, eventually moving ahead to finish sixth at the final checkers.

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will continue their 2019 campaign with another round of World of Outlaws West Coast Swing action, this time visiting Ocean Speedway just south of San Jose on Friday, March 22, followed by a stop at Placerville Speedway on Saturday, March 23.

Donny Schatz consistent through Stockton, chips away at Pittman’s point lead

Date: Friday, March 15th

Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Silver Dollar Speedway (Chico, Calif.)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 4th (13th)

Event: FVP Platinum Battery Showdown
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Stockton Dirt Track (Stockton, Calif.)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 8th (10th)

2019 World of Outlaws Championship Standings: 2nd – 984 points (4 points behind current leader, Daryn Pittman)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (March 18, 2019) – Entering the weekend, Donny Schatz was 20 points behind Daryn Pittman in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings. With the weekend events now complete, the Fargo, North Dakota-native is now only four points behind Pittman, well within striking distance as another round of the World of Outlaws’ West Coast Swing looms.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 15 sprint car, joined the Greatest Show On Dirt during visits to Silver Dollar Speedway and Stockton Dirt Track during the recent weekend. Although the defending World of Outlaws champion was unable to earn himself a dash starting position during the weekend pair, Schatz persevered, advancing a grand total of 11 positions in two races while increasing his top-ten streak to seven consecutive in 2019.

Impressive enough, Schatz’ top-ten streak was put to the test on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. Forced to start on the inside of row seven after finishing fourth during his respective heat race, Schatz did not hesitate, but instead methodically pick his way through the front half of field. When the dust settled, the Silver Dollar start ended up being the highlight of Schatz’ weekend, rallying from 13th to finish fourth in 35 laps.

Although the climb was shorter, Schatz did advance two positions on Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track, moving ahead from the outside of row five to finish eighth on a choppy, but quick racing surface. Schatz’ top-ten was set up by a third place finish during heat race action.

“It was an interesting weekend, to say the least. Despite track conditions and starting positions not in our favor, we salvaged some solid finishes. My team makes all of that possible,” Donny Schatz said, who is seeking an 11th World of Outlaws championship in 2019. “We’ll do whatever we can to get ourselves up front this weekend at Ocean and Placerville.”

Up next on the schedule, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their West Coast Swing with the World of Outlaws and visit Ocean Speedway and Placerville Speedway, respectively, on Friday and Saturday, March 22 & 23. Schatz finished sixth during his most recent start at Ocean Speedway in 2016, advancing from 18th to do so, claiming Hard Charger Award honors in the process.

Although he finished one position lower than where he started, Schatz highlighted his most recent trek to Placerville with a tenth place finish in September.
