THUNDERHILL RACEWAY PARK GETS THREE DURRENCE LAYNE DIVISIONS FOR 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN is the latest new track to sign up with the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series for 2019. Thunderhill Raceway Park will be presenting three Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions where the drivers in the respective Divisions will compete for both a Weekly and National point fund.

Competitors in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division, the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division will be in action at Thunderhill Raceway Park on Saturday nights during the 27-week Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season that runs from March 25 through September 29.

Drivers will use their best 14 weekly point totals as their Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season total. A National Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series point fund will be paid out to the Top 10 drivers in each Division. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Weekly Late Model National Champion will pocket $10,000.

“The competitors told us this is what they wanted, so we made the decision to give them what they asked for and sanction the 604 Late Models, the Street Stocks, and the Modifieds with the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series,” Thunderhill Raceway Park Owner and Promoter Jason Walker said. “I think this going to be good for everyone. The Durrence Layne Racing rules level the playing field for competitors, and that makes for better racing for the fans.”

Thunderhill Raceway Park will also present some special events for the Durrence Layne Racing Divisions during the 2019 season. The Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division will co-sanction with the Big 10 Series on May 17-18 and August 3 with $1,000-to-win races.

The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division will run a $1,000-to-win race on June 15, and a $2,000-to-win non-points race on September 14. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division will run in a pair of $1,000-to-win races on August 10 and October 19 at Thunderhill Raceway Park.
The Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions are predominately powered by economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. Durrence Layne Racing has used the sealed Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines since its inception in 2005.
These engines are highly scrutinized by Durrence Layne Racing Technical Officials, and if an engine needs to be resealed by an authorized rebuilder, the series issues new seals for the engine. The number of the seals and the work done by the rebuilder is recorded in a series database.
The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division offers a choice of the Chevrolet Performance 604 and 602 Circle Track Engines. The engine of choice in both the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division is the Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.
Costing $5,895, the Chevrolet Performance 604 Circle Track Engine is a 400 horsepower aluminum-head steel-block engine. The Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine is a 350 horsepower steel-head, steel-block engine that costs just $3,595. Both engines are in stock and available for free next-day delivery anywhere in the Southeast from Durrence Layne Chevrolet, Buick, GMC in Claxton, GA. To place an order, call 1-877-397-3624.
