DURRENCE LAYNE WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 3 ROUND UP

               ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Lonnie Brant of Bloomingdale, GA took the win on Friday night at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA to take over the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division point lead. Week 3 of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series saw just seven of 17 scheduled races getting in their programs.

              Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL took over the point lead in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division with a win on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL. Kevin Mitchell of Pensacola, FL won the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman race at Southern Raceway on Saturday night.

              With a spring weather pattern bringing rain on Friday and/or Saturday in recent weeks, one track has decided to try and run on Tuesday night. North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL has been rained out on a Friday night during Week 1, and a Saturday night on Week 3. While they will continue to keep their Saturday schedule, they will try racing on a Tuesday night this week.

              North Alabama Speedway will run all four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions this Tuesday night. They include the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division, the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division, the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division.

              Camden Speedway in Camden, TN ran all four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions in Week 3 action with Chase Walls of Decherd, TN winning the Late Model race, and Justin Pugh of Milan, TN winning the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock race. Rex Berry of Huntingdon, TN taking the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman race, and Brent Smith of Rutherford, TN winning the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman race.

              Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS made a last minute decision to move from Saturday night to Friday night to beat the weather for Week 3. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS won the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division race in the Villa South Special, and Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS won the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division race.

              Tyler Wood of Hohenwald, TN took a 40-point Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division win on Friday night at Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN. Michael Blade of Culleoka, TN was the TNR winner in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL were rained out on Friday night.

              Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, GA drove the Dublin Tire Special to victory in Week 3 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division action at Cochran Speedway in Cochran, GA. Ronnie Newsome of Lake Park, GA won the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock race on Saturday night at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA.

              Saturday night saw Week 3 rainouts at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN, and Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, LA.

              Brant holds a one point lead in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model standings over Shane Riner of Guyton, GA. Hamilton has a ten point lead over Joseph Nicholson of Fort Walton Beach, FL in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock standings. 

            Morgan Lambert has a seven point lead over Dakota Berry of Huntingdon, TN in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman standings. Rex Berry of Huntingdon, TN leads Brent Smith of Rutherford, TN in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman standings.
           
            Drivers competing the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
           
            A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in each of the four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions in National points will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
           
            The Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series four Divisions are designed around one of two economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division can compete with both engines.
