              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS took his fifth Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division win of the 2019 season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 14 action driving the Billy Riels Racing Special. The victory put The General into the Top 5 of the Late Model National point standings.

              Lee is fifth with 471 points after five wins, nine top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 11 races over ten weeks of racing. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS finished second to Lee at Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the Villa South Special, and remains second in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with 508 points.

              Scarbrough closed to within 13 of National point leader Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS. Cameron did not compete in Week 14 action. Scarbrough has three wins, nine top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 13 races over 11 weeks of competition.

              Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with 479 points after one win, 11 top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 12 races over ten weeks. Jarrell drove the Jarrell Racing Rocket to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway.

              Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS is fourth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with 474 points. Russell has two wins, nine top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 11 races over ten weeks of competition. Russell finished second on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Steele’s Dive Special.

              Jamie Elam was a winner in his first Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division race on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Shane Echols of Fayetteville, TN took the win on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN driving the Echols Racing Special. Christian Hanger posted a 40-point win on Sunday at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL in the Hanger Racing Special.

              There were three Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 14 races that were rained out. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS was rained out on Friday night. Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA was rained out on Saturday night, as was Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA - Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL stayed in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National Championship hunt with his sixth win of 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season on Sunday at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. Mitchell is second in the National standings with 474 points.

              Mitchell is 53 points behind the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point leader Morgen Lambert of Booneville, AL. Mitchell has six wins, ten top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 14 races over ten weeks of competition in the Sparks Energy Rocket. 

            Lambert has 527 points after one win, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 racers over 12 weeks. Lambert has two more weeks to earn full points and Mitchell has four more weeks to earn full points.  Lambert drove the Rae Trucking Special to a 17th-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.
           
            Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
