Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check worth $10,000 and a trophy.

Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL drove the Sparks Energy Rocket to his fifth Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division win of the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season in the Week 6 Make-Up Race on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway. He then finished third in the Week 15 race on Saturday night. That moved Mitchell into the fourth spot in the standings with 532 points.

Cameron has the fourth highest WPA at 46.83, and Russell has the fifth highest WPA at 46.67. Once drivers reach the 14th week of their respective seasons, they will begin trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly point total among their best 14 with a higher weekly point total. A driver’s highest point race for the week counts as their point total for that week.
