DURRENCE LAYNE PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 15 ROUND UP

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The point battle for the 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Championship is beginning to tighten up after Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 15 action. Just two points separate 14-year-old Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL and Hayden Moran of Covington, LA at the top of the standings.

Hamilton and Moran now have one more week to earn full points before they reach the 14-week mark of their respective seasons. Third-place Joseph Nicholson of Fort Walton Beach, FL has reached the 14-week mark of his season and will now try to net on a 25 beginning with Week 16 competition.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

Hamilton has 616 points in leading the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings. Hamilton had a 12th-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Hamilton Motorsports Special.
