DURRENCE LAYNE CHEVROLET LATE MODEL DIVISION WEEK 18 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – A Week 16 Make-Up Race, drivers reaching the 14-week mark, and Week 18 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action shuffled up the Top 5 of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division. When it was all said and done, Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is the new point leader with just eight points separating the Top 4 drivers.

              Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS set the shuffle in motion with Double Feature races on Friday night. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS reached the 14-week mark of his season with a win in the Week 16 Make-Up Race driving the Villa South Special. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS was second.

            Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS reached the 14-week mark of his season with a third-place finish in the Week 16 Make-Up Race, and Jarrell came home in fifth. Cameron drove the Cameron Motor Company Special to a win in the Week 18 Feature Race to net on a 41. Lee finished second to reach the 14-week mark of his season.
           
            Jarrell finished third in the Week 18 Feature Race at Hattiesburg Speedway on Friday night to reach the 14-week mark of his season. Scarbrough scored the best finish of his Week 18 competition with a third-place finish to net on a 39 on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. 
           
            At the completion of Week 18 action, Jarrell leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 668 points followed by Lee with a best 14-week total of 667 points, Scarbrough is third with a best 14-week total of 666 points, and Cameron is fourth with a best 14-week total of 660 points. 
           
            In their next races, Jarrell will try to net on a 45, Lee will try to net on a 40, Scarbrough will try to net on a 43, and Cameron will try to net on a 41. Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL rounds out the Top 5 in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with 631 points. Mitchell finished second on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL and he still has one more week to earn full points.
           
            Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
           
            A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.
           
            The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy, with the National Champion pocketing $10,000.
           
            In other Week 18 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division, Adam Ray of Smithland, KY drove the Three Rivers Boat and Barge Rocket to a 40-point win on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, and David Brannon of Elora, TN was the winner on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN.
           
            Tootie Arnold of Meadeville, MS took the win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the Derek’s Autoshop Special. Spencer Hughes of Meridian, MS drove the B.J.’s Tire and Service Center Special to his seventh Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division victory of the season on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. 
           
            Ben Brocato of Muscle Shoals, AL was the winner on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in the Valley Metal Fabricators Special, and Dennis Collins of Gadsden, AL won on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Meeks Truck and Trailer Repair Rocket. Justin Maxwell of Spring Hill, TN took the win on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN in the Dixon Plumbing Warrior.
           
            The Friday and Saturday night results from the races co-sanctioned by the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division and the NCRA at the Kansas State Fairgrounds Speedway in Hutchinson, KS were not reported or posted.

DURRENCE LAYNE PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 18 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 18 of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will be a memorable one for Jamie Sudduth of Millport, AL, as he drove the Wright Automotive Special to a pair of Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock victories at Columbus, MS tracks. Week 18 also saw three more drivers reach the 14-week mark of their respective seasons.

            Sudduth started the weekend blitz with his third win of the 2019 season on Friday night at Columbus Speedway, and then captured his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

              The top six drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings have now reached the 14-week mark of their respective season at the completion of Week 18 action, with three drivers netting points over the weekend.

              Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL finished third on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL to net on a 45. That keeps the 14-year-old driver on top of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14-week total of 674 points, and a four-point advantage over Hayden Moran of Covington, LA. 

            Moran had a seventh-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS to net on a 37 and bring his best 14-week total to 670 points. Hamilton will now try to net on a 46, and Moran will try to net on a 41.
           
            Mike Lane of Wing, AL drove the Lane Motorsports Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his seventh Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the 2019 season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway. Lane reached the 14-week mark of his season with 659 points, and climbed into the third spot in the standings.
           
            Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS reached the 14-week mark of his season with a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway. That gave Eaton a total of 656 points and the fourth spot in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings. Lane will try to net on a 40, and Eaton will try to net on a 39.
           
            Doug Taylor of Angie, LA rounds out the Top 5 of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 625 points. Taylor had a sixth-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS to net on a 41. Taylor will now try to net on another 41.

            Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN took his third Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN driving the Summertown Metals Special. Rhinehart has the highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 48.90 out of a possible 50.
           
            Jason Baker of Addison, AL drove the Carden Construction Special to his series-leading tenth win of the season on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL. Baker has the second highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings at 48.83.
           
            Brian Hudson of Elora, TN was the Street Stock winner on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN driving the Hudson Farms Special. Brandon Nobles of Coila, MS took the win on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the Parker Wrecker Service Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL padded his Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division point lead with his eighth win of the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL driving the Sparks Energy Rocket. Mitchell has now reached the 14th week of his season and will now try to net on a 41 in his next race. 

            Mitchell has 664 points and a 58-point lead over Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL. Wallace is second in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with 606 points. Wallace finished fifth at North Alabama Speedway on Saturday night in the Toyota of the Shoals Special, and he still has one more week to earn full points.
           
            Brian Murray of Russellville, AL is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with 596 points. Murray reached Week 14 of his 2019 season with an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL driving the Tire & More GRT. Murray will now try to net on a 40 in his next race.

DURRENCE LAYNE CHEVROLET MODIFIED SPORTSMAN DIVISION WEEK 18 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL continued his winning ways in Week 18 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action with his eighth Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman win of the 2019 season on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL driving the Morgan Machine Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

              Riddle leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division standings having reached the 14th week of his 2019 season with 674 points. Riddle will now try to net on a 40 in his next race. Riddle holds a seven point lead over the defending National Champion Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN.

              Gillespie reached the 14th week of his season with 667 points after a fourth-place run on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN. Gillespie will now try to net on a 34 in his next race. David Nichols of Hodges, AL is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division standings reaching his 14th week of racing with 601 points. 

              Nichols ran fifth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and will now try to net on a 36. Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN is fourth with 575 points after 14 weeks of competition. Johnston finished eighth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division feature race on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway and will now try to net on a 38. 

            Ron Bailey of Meridianville, AL rounds out the Top 5 in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division standings with 574 pounds after 14 weeks of racing, and will now try to net on a 25. Bailey finished ninth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway.
           
            Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
           
            A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point finish each week as their total for that week.
           
            The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
           
            In other Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Week 18 action, Ryan Sawyers of Newberry, TN took a 40-point win on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN in the Sawyers Motorsports Special. Michael Blakeney took his second win of the season on Saturday night with a 40-point win at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL in the Blakeney Racing Special.
           
            Chris Yarbrough of Eastaboga, AL drove the United Maintenance Special to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Bradley Qualls of Pleasantville, TN took his seventh Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division win of the season on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway driving the Isabell Construction Special.
