DURRENCE LAYNE CHEVROLET MODIFIED SPORTSMAN DIVISION WEEK 21 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL broke a tie for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division point lead with his tenth win of the season on Saturday night in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 21 action at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL driving the Morgan Machine Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

              Riddle was able to net on a 47 and gain three points to bring his best 14-week total to 692 points. Riddle now has a three point lead over the defending Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman National Champion Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN. Gillespie finished sixth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and did not net on a 48. 

            Gillespie is second in the standings with a best 14-week total of 689 points. Gillespie has a 54-point advantage over the new third-place driver in the National point standings, Blake Cross of Centerville, TN. Cross used his final week to earn full points to turn in a 46-point fifth-place drive on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN. Cross is third with a 14-week total of 635 points.
           
            Just nine points separate third through fifth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings. One point behind Cross in the fourth spot is Chuckie Gipson of Tuscumbia, AL. Gipson finished ninth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to net on a 39, gain three points, and bring his best 14-week total to 634 points.
           
            David Nichols of Hodges, AL rounds out the Top 5 of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division standings with a best 14-week total of 626 points. Nichols finished eighth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to net on a 41 and gain two points on his season total.
           
            Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
           
            A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point finish each week as their total for that week.
           
            The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division point leader Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL continued his winning ways on Saturday night with his 11th victory of the season at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL driving the Sparks Energy Rocket. Mitchell was able to add five points to his season point total after netting on a 45.

              Mitchell now has a best 14-week total of 692 points, eight points away from a perfect 14-week total of 700 points that is represented by 14 50-point wins. Mitchell now has a 25-point advantage over the second-place driver in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings, Blake Ray of Russellville, AL. 

              Ray finished fifth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to net on a 41 and gain five points on his season total to move up to the second spot. Ray now has a best 14-week total of 667 points. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL finished fourth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and netted on a 45 to gain two points. Wallace is third in the National points with a best 14-week total of 666 points.

              Donovan Henry of Muscle Shoals, AL moved into the Top 5 of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division standings with a 49-point second-place finish in his final week to earn full points on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway. Henry moved up to fourth in the National point with a 14-week total of 660 points.

              Austin Steele of Moulton, AL rounds out the top five in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 651 points. Steele finished third on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway.

DURRENCE LAYNE PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 21 ROUND UP

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Mike Lane of Wing, AL drove the Lane Racing Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his eighth Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  Lane’s Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Week 21 win gave him the National point lead.

              Lane was able to net on a 42 and gain eight points on his season total. Lane now has a best 14-week total of 684 points. While Lane was winning at Southern Raceway, 94 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division competitors stopped off at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS for the 7th Annual Durrence Layne Chevrolet Southern Street Stock Nationals.

              Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL took the $5,000 top prize in the Saturday night grand finale that was a non-points race. The six Qualifying Feature Races on Thursday night for the Southern Street Stock Nationals were Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point races.

              Hayden Moran of Covington, LA won the fourth Qualifying Race at Whynot Motorsports Park on Thursday night in the We Buy Junk Cars Special powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to net on a 44 and gain six points on his season total. That moved Moran up to the second spot in the Durrence Layne Street Stock National standings with a best 14-week total of 680 points.

              Jason Baker of Addison, AL went into Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 21 action as the National point leader. Baker finished tenth in the second Qualifying Race to earn 41 points and gain one point after netting on a 40. That brought Baker’s best 14-week total up to 679 points, and dropped him down to the third spot in the National standings.

              Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL finished ninth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway, and failed to net on a 46. Hamilton is fourth in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14-week total of 675 points. Jeremy Eaton finished 14th in the third Qualifying Feature at WMP on Thursday night and failed to net on a 42. Eaton is fifth in the National standings and has a best 14-week total of 671 points.

              ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Eight of the Top 10 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division drivers in the National standings ended up at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL on Saturday night for Week 21 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action. Ben Brocato of Muscle Shoals, AL was the winner in the Valley Metal Fabricators Special.

              Point leader Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS traveled to North Alabama Speedway and made a statement. Lee finished third behind Brocato and Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS to net on a 44 and gain four points on his season total. Lee remains on top of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with a best 14-week total of 689 points.

              Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS went into Week 21 action tied for the second spot in the National standings and left still knotted with a best 14-week total of 680 points. Scarbrough took on Mitchell at his home track, but neither driver was able to net any points. Scarbrough finished 6th and failed to net on a 45, and Mitchell finished ninth and failed to net on a 46.

              Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 668 points. Jarrell has a one point advantage over Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS. Cameron has a best 14-week total of 667 points. Jarrell and Cameron did not compete in Week 21 action.

              The Top 12 drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings have reached the 14-week mark in their respective seasons after Week 21 of the 27-week season and are now all trying to net points.
