COCHRAN MOTOR SPEEDWAY TO HOST 2018 STREET STOCK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Durrence Layne Racing officials have announced that Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA will host the $5,000-to-win, 50-lap 3rd Annual Street Stock World Championship Race on December 28 and 29. Qualifying and Heat Races will take place on Friday night, December 28, while B-Main Races and the Main Event will happen on Saturday night, December 29.

Something new for 2018 will be that 36 cars will start the $5,000-to-win, 50-lap 3rd Annual Street Stock World Championship Race three-wide in 12 rows. This is a format made popular by promoter Phillip Hathcock at the Street Stock Southern Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Drivers from at least 12 different states are expected to compete for the right to be called a World Champion. Texan Chris Brown won the Inaugural Street Stock World Championship Race in 2016 at Golden Isle Speedway in Brunswick, GA. Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS is the defending Street Stock World Champion, winning the prize on his 64th birthday last year at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA.
