FIVE DURRENCE LAYNE RACING DIVISIONS SHOWCASED IN VP NATIONALS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Five Durrence Layne Racing Divisions will be showcased in the inaugural VP Nationals this Friday night and Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. This will mark the first time in the sanctioning body’s 14-year history that all five racing Divisions will be in action at the same track on the same weekend.

The headline Division will be the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series that will run three main events over two days. This Friday night, the Chevy Super Series will compete in Twin 20-lap main events, with each race paying $1,000-to-win. The Chevy Super Series will return on Saturday night with a $3,000-to-win 50-lap main event.

At the conclusion of the Saturday night 50-lap main event for the Chevy Super Series, the 2018 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Champion will be crowned, as will the 2018 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year.

The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series race cars are powered by the economical all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT525 Circle Track Engine, built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. The Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine is based on the production LS3 Engine that comes in Chevy and GMC Trucks, the Corvette, and the Camaro.

The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division will also be in the spotlight with a $2,000-to-win main event on Saturday night along with B-Main Races. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division will Qualify and Heat Races to fill the front half of the main event starting line-up on Friday night.

The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division will wind up its first year of competition with a $1,500-to-win main event, along with B-Main Races on Saturday night. The Mod Squad will run preliminary events on Friday night for the VP Nationals with Qualifying and Heat Races.

The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division will be in action on Saturday night with an $800-to-win main event, and the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division is on the Saturday night card with a $500-to-win main event. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division race cars are powered by the Chevrolet Performance 604 and 602 Circle Track Engines.

The Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine is required in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division and it is an optional engine in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division and the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division. Like the Chevrolet Performance CT525, the 604 and 602 Circle Track Engines are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.

Along with the five Durrence Layne Racing Divisions, the Talladega Short Track Hot Shot Division will be in action on Saturday night with a $300-to-win main event. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division, the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division, and the Hot Shots may practice on Friday night.
