NEW YEAR’S BOOKENDS FOR DURRENCE LAYNE RACING DIVISIONS

              CARTERSVILLE, GA – Durrence Layne Racing will close 2018 and open 2019 with two big events. The 3rd Annual Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race will be at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA on December 28-29, and all four Durrence Layne Racing Divisions will compete in the 28th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on January 3-6.

              The top Street Stock drivers in the Southeast will converge on Cochran Motor Speedway for an open Practice on Thursday, December 27. They will Qualify and run Heat Races on Friday, December 28.  The B-Main Races and the $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race will be run on Saturday, December 29.

              The payout for the 3rd Annual Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race is as follows: 1. $5,000; 2. $2,500; 3. $1,000; 4. $850; 5. $700; 6. $600; 7. $575; 8. $550; 9. $525; 10. $500; 11. $350; 12. $325; 13-24. $300.

              Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS is the defending champion of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race and he will be back to defending his title. Among the pre-entries and drivers expected for this year’s race are last year’s runner-up Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL, the 2017 third-place driver Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL and fifth-place Kyle Livingood of Bristol, GA.

              Also expected are David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN, Richie Stephens of Smith Station, AL, Colby Giddens of Cochran, GA, Bud Chancey of Yulee, FL, Chad Tuten of Blackshear, GA, Brian Wooten of Brunswick, GA, and Mike Stalnaker of Ocala, FL.

              The Durrence Layne Performance Street Stocks will join the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division on January 3-6 for the 28th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track.

              The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will open its 2019 season with the opening event of the Winter Shootout Series. Three-time Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is the defending Ice Bowl Champion, and Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland, TN is the defending Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout Champion.

              At Cochran Motor Speedway on Thursday, December 27, the pit gate for the Open Practice will open at 4 p.m. and the track will be open for practice from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Friday, December 28, the pit gate opens at 2 p.m. with Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

            The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with Hot Laps at 6 p.m. On Saturday, December 29, the Cochran Motor Speedway pit gate opens at 12 Noon. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and Hot Laps will begin at 4 p.m.
