Tyler Erb Conquers Australian Steel City Nationals Late Model Finale
Australian Doubleheader Set for this Weekend

New Waverly, Texas (01/15/19) – On Saturday night
Tyler Erb picked up the victory at Perth Motorplex (Perth, Australia) during the second round of the U.S. Invasion in the Case Construction #91 HDD Racing/ Tri Tech Lubricant/ XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.

The Di Candilo Steel City Late Model Nationals victory gave Erb a shot in the arm after struggles in the first round.

“This place (Perth Motorplex) is a lot different than it was last year, and our notes from last year just didn’t work in the first race,” Erb revealed. “This feels a lot better than we felt on Wednesday. We worked on the car all day and all week, and finally we got it good for this second feature.

“(Joe) Godsey was gone in the feature, and I don’t think we would’ve ever caught him if not for the caution. On the restart I stuck my neck in there, and he and I made some contact. I know I leaned on him some, and he could’ve run me dirty but didn’t and I appreciate that. Finally, I want to thank everybody at HDD Racing for again providing me with this awesome opportunity. These guys bust their butts for me, and I really appreciate it.”

On Wednesday Tyler Erb returned to action at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia) with the opening night of the Di Candilo Steel City Late Model Nationals. With 28 Super Late Models registered for action, Erb timed in 10th-fastest in qualifying before charging to a heat race win. Falling one spot shy of a Top-5 finish in the feature, Tyler posted a sixth-place performance in the 30-lap affair.

For the second round of the Di Candilo Steel City Late Model Nationals, Tyler Erb was one of 25 cars that returned to Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia) on Saturday evening. After cruising to an 8-lap heat race win in his first attempt, Tyler passed five cars in his second heat to finish fifth.

Earning the third-starting position for the main event, Erb set a steady pace in the early stages of the race before he made his move to the front. Using a late-race caution to his advantage, Tyler Erb slipped underneath the leader and held off late-race challenges to pick up his first win of the season. Billy Moyer, Michael Holmes, Joe Godsey, and Marc Giancola completed the Top-5 finishers in the 40-lap affair.

Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey Chase Glory Down Under
Godsey Notches Pair of Top-5 Finishes During U.S. Invasion

Bentonville, Arkansas (01/15/19) – Bentonville, Arkansas-based Roth Motorsports – with drivers Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey – embarked on the first two events of the U.S. Invasion Tour over the weekend at Western Australia’s Perth Motorplex.

Both drivers hit the ground running with fast hot rods. Godsey led the charge as he flirted with Victory Lane in both opening rounds.

“We’ve got probably the best cars we’ve ever had here,” Godsey said. “My car was really good in the opening round at Perth Motorplex, and then we were even better in the second round. My car took off from the drop of the green flag on Saturday night, and we had checked out before a late-race caution. On the restart another driver got into me pretty hard, and I got pinched into the wall. We held on for a Top-5 finish, but it was pretty disappointing, because I had a race-winning car. We’ll move on though to the final two rounds and hopefully grab a win or two.”

Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey returned to action on Wednesday night at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, Western Australia) for the opening night of the Di Candilo Steel City Late Model Nationals.

In a field of 28 entries, Roth notched the ninth-fastest lap in qualifying in his Car Busters #14R Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette Super Late Model, before finishing fifth and seventh in his two heat races.

Joe Godsey recorded a new track record in qualifying in his Waco Title #14G Car Busters/ MDR Trans Super Late Model, before recording a runner-up finish and an 8-lap victory in his two heat races.

Reeling in a podium finish in the feature, Godsey landed a runner-up spot behind Billy Moyer with Michael Holmes, Ryan Halliday and Tyler Erb completing the Top-5 finishers. Roth notched a seventh-place finish in the 30-lap affair.

For the second round of the Di Candilo Steel City Late Model Nationals, Joe Godsey secured his spot into the main event with a heat race win and third-place finish in his two attempts. Jeff Roth recorded a fifth and a sixth in his heat race appearances.

Starting on the pole, Godsey exchanged the lead with Billy Moyer in the opening laps before jumping out to a comfortable lead by lap-15. Trying to navigate his way through lap-traffic late, Joe received contact from another driver on a late-race restart, which resulted in him making contact with the wall. He limped his entry home to a fourth-place finish behind Tyler Erb, Billy Moyer, and Michael Holmes.

Jeff Roth registered a 18th place outing in the 40-lapper.
“Whether we are at the track or sightseeing, this is just an amazing experience,” Jeff Roth commented. “We’ve been enjoying some truly great hospitality down here. It’s definitely become an annual tradition for our team.”
