Tyler Erb Scores Ronny Adams Memorial Opener at Boothill
Texan Pilots Timothy Culp’s No. C8 to Victory

NEW WAVERLY, Tex. (03/10/20) – Tyler Erb piloted the Timothy Culp-owned No. C8 to his second victory of the season on Friday night in the inaugural Ronny Adams Memorial at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La.

The Texas native used a thrilling high-side pass exiting turn four on the final lap to pick up the $3,000 payday in the COMP Cams Super Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil event. Teammate, Timothy Culp made a late-race charge to the $7,000 victory in Saturday night’s finale.

“That was a fun weekend,” said Erb. “I enjoyed being teammates with Timmy [Culp] and it feels great to be able to sweep the weekend between the two of us. We had a flat tire in our heat on Saturday night and that just put us behind. Congrats to Timmy on his win. I hope I can drive for him again .”

With a stout field of 39 entries were on hand, Erb laid down the second fastest lap in his time trial group before capturing a 10-lap heat race victory. Starting the opening night feature in third, Tyler tracked down race-long leader Jesse Stovall on the final lap and slipped ahead exiting the final turn for the win. Stovall finished second, followed by Billy Moyer Jr., Timothy Culp, and Neil Baggett.

Returning on Saturday night for the $7,000-to-win finale, Tyler registered the fastest lap in his qualifying group but suffered a flat-tire in his heat that dropped him back to a 4th place finish. Starting the feature in 14th, Erb ran into mechanical issues near the middle-stages of the 50-lapper that forced him to retire early.

The team’s plans for upcoming weekend are still undecided. They are currently looking at tentatively competing in the 44th Annual Spring 50 at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) or the Season Opener at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio). The team is monitoring the weather forecast and will make a “game-time decision” between the two.
