Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing Compete at Knoxville
LOLMDS Jackson 100 Weekend Up Next at Brownstown
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (09/20/21) –Brandon Sheppard recorded a trio of Top-10 finishes during the 16th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals in the Rocket1 Racing / Valvoline No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches / Durham Racing Engines-powered XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.
His weekend performance included a fifth-place finish in Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win finale.
“We slipped back in the early in the finale on Saturday, but as we started to get some fuel burn off later in the race, I could really run that top, and it allowed me to pass some cars. We just weren’t as good down the track as we needed to be, and that cushion didn’t come in until it was too late to get to the front,” Sheppard commented. “It was a challenging weekend. It was fun, but it seemed like the track was a lot more narrow than normal. We’ll keep working to make this hot rod better and head off to the next one.”
On Thursday, Rocket1 Racing and Sheppard joined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) as the 17th annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Brandt got underway. With the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race pinning him 13th on the starting grid for the preliminary feature, Brandon gained one spot in the 25-lapper to finish 10th.
For another $7,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday evening, Brandon rebounded to win his heat race after contact with another competitor damaged his hood. Rolling off on the pole for feature, Sheppard led the first two laps but would eventually cross the line in third. He followed Tyler Erb and Tyler Bruening across the line with Tim McCreadie and Mike Marlar rounding out the Top-5.
With preliminary results placing Sheppard fifth on the starting grid for the $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals on Saturday evening, Brandon carried a steady pace throughout the 100-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Mike Marlar, Tim McCreadie, Ricky Weiss, and Earl Pearson Jr. to the checkers.
For complete results from these events, please visit www.FloRacing.com and www.LucasDirt.com .
The Rocket1 Racing team will return to action this Thursday – Saturday with a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events at Brownstown Speedway. Action opens on Thursday night with the postponed finale for the Indiana Icebreaker. Before the feature event was postponed back in March, Sheppard had earned the outside-front-row starting position for the $15,000-to-win feature, and that’s where he’ll roll off when action resumes on Thursday.
On Friday night the 2021 edition of the Jackson 100 comes to life with a $10,000-to-win event, and on Saturday evening the finale will pay $20,000-to-win.

Tyler Erb Goes Two-for-Three in Victory Lane During Knoxville Nationals
Pair of Victories Pushes 2021-Win Tally to 15
ST. MARYS, Ohio (09/20/21) – While a mechanical issue in Saturday’s finale prevented Tyler Erb from completing a weekend sweep of the 17th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals, the Texas native was still able to bag a pair of wins in his Industrial Resourcing Group / M&W Transport No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Thursday and Friday night’s victories rewarded Erb with $7,000 each. Additionally, after relinquishing the lead due to a mechanical issue on Saturday night, Tyler’s crew were able to complete makeshift repairs, and he tagged the back of the pack before rallying back to a sixth-place finish.
“No doubt, we were bummed to not get the win Saturday night, but what an incredible weekend for our team. We swept the first two nights, and we were in the driver’s seat to win the $50,000 check on Saturday, and then a freak deal happened with a gear. My Winters rear-end did a great job of hanging on, and equally great was the job done by my crew to get me back out there. I rallied back to sixth, which again wasn’t a win, but in some ways it still felt like it,” Erb noted. “We’ve really hit our stride here lately, and I thank everyone who supports us and makes this all possible.”
Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb traveled to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the 17th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Brandt.
Drawing 48 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Tyler clocked in seventh fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win. Stealing the lead from polesitter Ricky Weiss on the second lap of the feature, Erb kept a charging Jonathan Davenport and Kyle Larson at bay in the closing laps of the race to capture his 13th win of the season and a $7,000 payday. He took the checkered flag ahead of Davenport, Larson, Ricky Weiss, and Kyle Strickler.
The following night, Tyler secured his spot into the preliminary feature with a fourth-to-second run in his heat. Overtaking polesitter Brandon Sheppard on the third circuit, Erb stormed to his second win in as many nights and 14th of his 2021 campaign. He took the checkers ahead of Tyler Bruening, Sheppard, Tim McCreadie, and Mike Marlar to claim $7,000 as he earned his 15th-career LOLMDS triumph.
With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday placing Erb on the front-row for the $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals finale, Tyler nosed ahead of Tim McCreadie for the lead on the 11th circuit and paced the field until mechanical issues sent him into the infield on lap 39. Charging from 24th, after his crew thrashed during the caution period, Erb advanced through the field to reel in an impressive sixth-place finish.
Tyler sits in sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings. Full results from these events are available at www.LucasDirt.com .
The upcoming week has the Best Performance Motorsports team gearing up for four races in five days. On Tuesday night, the team will invade Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway for the $10,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event. Tyler is sixth in the latest series standings.
Then on Thursday – Saturday, the 2021 edition of the Jackson 100 comes to life at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctions three-straight days of racing.
Action opens on Thursday with the postponed consolation events and finale for the Indiana Icebreaker. Delayed from March, the $15,000-to-win program finds Tyler starting fourth in a B-Main when action resumes.
Meanwhile, on Friday night at $10,000-to-win program is scheduled, and Saturday night finds a $20,000 top prize on the line.
Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb would like to thank all of their marketing partners, which include: Industrial Resourcing Group, First Class Septic, Roberts Bee Company, M&W Transport, Boxo USA, Bazell Race Fuels, Sunoco, Keyser Manufacturing, Integra Shocks, Hoosier Tire, Lucas Oil, Industrial Hydro Excavating, Go Lithium, Allstar Performance, K-B Carbs, GottaRace.com, Precision Racing Components, Beyea Headers, Day Motorsports, Doyle Edwards Trucking, Wilwood Disc Brakes, Wiles Drive Shafts, Simpson Race Products, Weld Racing, Performance Rod & Custom, Powers Performance, Heath Lawson Photography, Swift Springs, Walker Performance Filtration, Outerwears, Strange Engineering, Rocket Chassis, R&R Design, KBC Graphics and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.

Cade Dillard Tops Texas Dirt Nationals $10,000 Opener
Prepares to Go After $50,001 Top Prize in Super Bee 100
ROBELINE, La. (09/20/21) – Cade Dillard kicked off the inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals at The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway with a $10,000 victory on Friday night in his S&S Fishing & Rental Inc. No. 97 MB Customs/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
"I lost my grandpa this week, and I know he was riding with me," Dillard said haltingly in Victory Lane Friday night. "He loved racing and to do this for him means the world to me. This is probably one of the coolest places to win at. I won the Modified race here in '14, and I feel like that kind of really set my career up to be where I'm at today, you know? Like I said, to get one of these cowboy hats at a facility like this and these fans, it's pretty cool. I hope my car owner (Shane Sprinkle) is watching. He's been under the weather and I'm happy to get this for them. I owe all this to him. He gave me these opportunities."
Cade Dillard traveled to The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway (Fort Worth, Texas) on Friday evening to take part in the opening round of the inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals.
Drawing 33 Late Models for the two-day event, Cade qualified fifth fastest in his group in time trials before picking up an eight-lap heat race victory. Going from third-to-first on the opening circuit of the feature, Dillard led flag-to-flag in the 25-lapper to register his fourth win of the season, which came ahead of Billy Moyer, Stormy Scott, Brandon Overton, and Bobby Pierce. He dedicated the $10,000 victory to his late grandfather who passed six days prior.
On Saturday, Dillard’s second-place finish in his heat race positioned him ninth on the starting grid for the $50,000-to-win finale. With only 30 laps to gain ground, Cade rebounded to finish 14th after he pitted with a flat right-rear tire on the third lap while running in fifth.

Ricky Weiss Finishes Third in Knoxville Late Model Nationals Finale
Adds Fourth-Place Finish in Preliminary Action
HEADINGLEY, MANITOBA, Canada (09/20/21) – Ricky Weiss piloted his Drydene Performance Products No. 7 J&C Properties / G-Style Transport/ Sniper Chassis / Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model to a podium finish in Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win finale for the 17th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.
“We were just trying to maintain early (in Saturday’s finale), and I was trying to take care of my tires. There in the feature I really got rolling in the middle, but I was sliding a little more than some of those other guys, and that might’ve sealed my tires up a bit,” Weiss said. “It’s an honor to be battling for crown jewel wins with guys like Mikey (Marlar) and Tim (McCreadie). I’m so proud of our team for how hard everyone has been working. To roll across those scales tonight after finishing third and to see everyone smiling is just great. From Drydene to G-Style Transport, everybody has been so supportive of us as we develop this new car, and it really means a lot to our team.”
Thursday night found Ricky Weiss in action at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for the 17th annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Brandt. Drawing 48 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors, Ricky followed up the sixth fastest lap in his qualifying group with a 10-lap heat victory.
Starting on the pole for the $7,000-to-win preliminary feature, Weiss slipped three spots in the 25-lapper to place fourth. He trailed Tyler Erb, Jonathan Davenport, and Kyle Larson to the checkers with Kyle Strickler coming in fifth.
On Friday for another round of preliminary action, Weiss ran into mechanical issues in his heat race, which sidelined him for the rest of the night.
With his fourth-place finish on Thursday locking him into the sixth-starting position for Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals, Ricky improved three spots in the 100-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He followed Mike Marlar and Tim McCreadie across the line with Earl Pearson Jr. and Brandon Sheppard rounding out the Top-5.

Track: Lincoln Speedway (Abbottstown, Pennsylvania)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finish (Start): 15th (22nd)
ST. HELENA, Calif. (September 20, 2021) - It was a long weekend in the Keystone State for Rico Abreo and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing, but the team ultimately prevailed, qualifying for all three weekend headliners including the $20,000-to-win Lincoln Speedway Dirt Classic VIII. Despite just missing the top-ten in two out of the three weekend events, Abreu kicked things off with a bang, capping BAPS Motor Speedway’s Greg Hodnett Foundation Race with a hard charge from 15th to finish fifth; Abreu’s 29th top-five, 48th top-ten, of the 2021 season.
In addition to his top-five in York Haven, Abreu, pilot of the Rowdy Energy, Curb Records, Lucas Oil Products, Stadelhofer Construction, Self Made Racing, Salty’s BBQ, No. 24 sprint car, finished 12th and 15th, respectively, the following evenings, first finishing 12th after starting 15th in Williams Grove Speedway’s $7,000-to-win Jack Gunn Memorial, then ending the weekend with a rally from 22nd to finish 15th in the aforementioned Dirt Classic VIII.
Forced to do things the hard way, Abreu had to battle his way through the Dirt Classic B-Main before making a start in the 40-lap finale. The St. Helena, California-native had to resort to the B-Main after missing the A-Main points cutoff. The program utilized a double heat race format with passing points assembling the feature lineup.
Adding to the talent pool, the Jack Gunn Memorial and Dirt Classic each featured the All Star Circuit of Champions.
“Considering the level of competition we were facing, it’s tough to be disappointed with our results, but I know our potential and we’re not going to be satisfied unless we win,” Abreu said, who owns one victory thus far in 2021. “It’s been a pretty wild season, to say the least. We’ve logged a lot of miles and it hasn’t been easy for the crew, but they’ve been hanging tough and I’m proud of them. We still have a lot of racing on our schedule, so we’ll do what we can to rack up a few more wins for this Rowdy Energy team.”
Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with a doubleheader at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track - Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The weekend agenda will begin with the BeFour the Crowns Showdown featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday, followed by the 4-Crown Nationals featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday.
