Tim McCreadie Pockets Pair of Top-10 Finishes at the Pittsburgher
Brownstown Speedway Doubleheader Up Next

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (10/07/24) Tim McCreadie began his pursuit of a third Lucas Oil Late Model Series (LOLMDS) championship over the weekend with the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

After finishing eighth in Friday’s opener at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, McCreadie raced to a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s $50,000-to-win finale.

“We didn’t have the weekend we hoped to have in the first two championship races at Pittsburgh, but we’re still in the thick of things. Heading into Brownstown (Speedway) this week we have high hopes. We had a really good car there at the Castrol (FloRacing Night in America) event a few weeks ago, and it gave us a good notebook on the new car heading into this week,” McCreadie said. “As always I can’t say enough thanks to this awesome Rocket1 Racing team, and all our great marketing partners.”

The Big River Steel Chase for the Championship commenced for Rocket1 Racing and Tim McCreadie on Friday evening as 38 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors invaded Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the annual Pittsburgher.

With a preliminary program slated for Friday evening, Tim advanced into the opener with a runner-up heat finish. With a $10,000 prize up for grabs, McCreadie rolled to an eighth-place finish.

Back at the half-mile oval on Saturday, McCreadie topped his 19-car group in time trials before placing first in his heat race. Starting on the front row for $50,000-to-win Pittsburgher, Tim ran as high as the second position before ultimately crossing the line in fourth.

He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Devin Moran, and Max Blair across the line with Hudson O’Neal coming in fifth.

With the first two races of the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship in the books, Tim sits in fourth in the standings.

Full results from the week’s action are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

The team now turns their attention to a pair of LOLMDS events this weekend at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. Action opens on Friday with the third annual C.J. Rayburn Memorial, which posts a $10,000 winner’s check followed by the record-setting $50,000-to-win Jackson 100 finale on Saturday.

McCreadie has three times won the coveted Jackson 100 with triumphs in 2008, 2020, and 2022.

Tyler Erb Banks $10,000 Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway
LOLMDS Jackson 100 Weekend Up Next

ST. MARYS, Ohio (10/07/24) – Tyler Erb rolled to his second career Gumbo Nationals victory on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway aboard his Bulk Material Lift / Anthony’s Pizza No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

After pulling off a last-lap triumph in the 2016 Gumbo Nationals, Erb dominated the main event on Saturday night to capture his 17th win of the season and the $10,000 winner's payday.

“The track was a lot different (than Friday) for sure, I just had to get the start when Mike (Palasini Jr.) restarted next to me on that initial start,” Erb said. “It was like ‘Man, I really don’t wanna follow him’ … you know, he got me on the first (restart). I didn’t have nothing to lose and got the top of (turns) one and two and was able to swing by there. Didn’t get tied up with the lapped cars and just tried to keep it out of the fence there ... it was awesome, I love coming to Greenville.”

Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team trekked to Greenville (Miss.) Speedway on Friday afternoon to compete in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) sanctioned Gumbo Nationals.

With a preliminary event on Friday kicking off the doubleheader weekend, Erb got off to a strong start as he backed up the overall fast time honors with a heat race win. Chasing a $5,000 payday in the opener, Tyler lost one spot in the 30-lap affair to place second.

Seeking redemption on Saturday, Tyler advanced into the Gumbo Nationals finale with an uncontested win in his heat race. Starting on the front row, Erb charged past Friday’s winner Mike Palasini Jr. on the second circuit and paced the remainder of the 50-lapper to secure the $10,000 top prize.

The dominant victory marked Erb’s 17th of the season and his seventh career MSSCS triumph.

Full results from the events can be found at www.StateSeries.com.

The team is preparing for a doubleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Brownstown (IN) Speedway. Friday’s C.J. Rayburn Memorial is followed by the $50,000-to-win Jackson 100.

Following a dominating performance in Friday’s 40-lap preliminary, Shirley overtook Myles Moos on lap 17 of Saturday’s finale and led the rest of the 50-lapper to increase his weekend earnings to $17,000.

"It's been almost a dream season for us after how bad the season started," Shirley said. "Definitely a little emotional, it's first race that I've had my whole family literally to come to a race. So it's a pretty proud moment ... I apologize for the messed up interview, but emotions are just pretty rough right now."

Fresh off a World of Outlaws triumph last Saturday, Brian Shirley raced close to home over the weekend for the Edelman FALS Frenzy at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway with the MARS Championship Late Model Series.

With 40 Late Models signed in on Friday afternoon, Shirley raced his way into the $5,000-to-win opener and led wire-to-wire to score the victory over Brandon Sheppard and Jason Feger.

On Saturday night, Brian once again picked up a heat race win and started third in the 50-lap finale. Shirley briefly ran second and took the top spot on lap 17 before he fought off Dennis Erb Jr. in the closing laps to take home the checkered flag. Brian recorded his third straight victory and pocketed $12,000 for his efforts.

Full results from the doubleheader can be found at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.

Shirley and the Bob Cullen Racing team will sit idle this weekend to prepare for their final events in 2024.

Next weekend, Shirley will join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Eldora Speedway for the 44th Annual Dirt Track World Championship. Prelims on Friday set the stage for the $100,000-to-win LOLMDS season finale on Saturday night.

The opportunity to get into someone else's car when I know they know what they are doing keeps my confidence high. I'm capable and his stuff is capable. It's a matter of putting our heads together and getting up to speed quickly.
