Tyler Erb Finishes Third in Dirt Track World Championship
Claims LOLMDS Rookie of the Year Title

St. Marys, Ohio (10/21/19) – Tyler Erb put a wrap on the 2019 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) campaign over the weekend with a trip to Ohio's Portsmouth Raceway Park for the 39th Annual Dirt Track World Championship.

It proved to be a great weekend for the driver of the Industrial Resourcing Group No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

With 64 competitors entered, Tyler backed up a solid-qualifying effort on Friday evening with a second-place finish in his heat race. Via accumulated points he locked into the ninth-starting spot for Saturday night's $100,000-to-win feature.

In the 100-lap, crown jewel finale, Erb clawed his way to a third-place finish behind Brandon Sheppard and Mike Marlar.

Erb claimed the 2019 Eibach Rookie of the Year by entering the weekend's event and ended the year with six series wins.

"I was a little behind where I wanted to be early in the race, because I started ninth. Those other guys put themselves in a better starting position. I am very happy with the finish tonight and this year. I broke Randall's [crew chief Randall Edwards] streak of three wins in a row tonight, but it has been an awesome year for us at Best Performance," Erb said. "To come out of this season with the Rookie-of-the-Year Championship is fantastic, and I can't wait for our team to build on that next year.

"I definitely want to thank Best Performance Motorsports, our sponsors, our fans and family for giving us great support the entire year."

Tyler finished fourth in the final LOLMDS standings. For full results from the event as well as the final series' standings, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .

Action opens on Friday night with twin $2,500-to-win features, while Saturday night’s program will be headlined by a $15,000-to-win finale.

Event: FVP Platinum Battery Showdown
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 1st (5th)

Date: Saturday, October 19th
Event: Jason Johnson Classic Presented By FK Rod Ends
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Missouri)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finish (Start): 8th (14th)

2019 World of Outlaws Championship Standings: 2nd - 9554 points (32 points behind Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 21, 2019) - Less than two months after Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team owner, Tony Stewart, powered a Ford FPS 410 to victory lane during IRA Outlaw Sprint Series competition in Plymouth, Wisconsin, ten-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz did the same, this time during World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.

The victory, Schatz’ tenth of the season with the Greatest Show On Dirt, was accomplished in convincing fashion, powering ahead from fifth on the grid to take command on lap 13. Forced to outduel ‘Blackjack’ Brian Brown during the early stages, Schatz’ takeover on lap 13 was the product of a near-full lap drag race with Brown, ultimately beating the Missouri-native back to the line to lead the circuit.

“It’s pretty rewarding,” said Schatz about winning with the new Ford engine. “Sometimes you have to do things in life that are off the beaten path. That’s what this whole program is. They got a lot of dedication to it. Tony (Stewart) does. And what Tony asks us to do we do. Here we are.”

In addition to his victory at Lakeside Speedway, Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 15 sprint car, earned a top-ten finish during the inaugural Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday, October 19.

An impressive recovery, Schatz earned his eighth place outcome from the outside of row seven, forced to start deep after finishing fifth during heat race action.
With all results considered, the Fargo, North Dakota-native still trails World of Outlaws point leader, Brad Sweet, by 32 markers heading into the two-day stint at Port Royal Speedway.

Up next on the schedule, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart Racing will make their way back to the Keystone State and prepare for a doubleheader at the ‘Speed Palace.’

Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, will host the Greatest Show On Dirt during the annual Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 25 & 26. The two-day showstopper will award a total winner’s share equaling $23,000: $8,000 on Friday and $15,000 on Saturday. Donny Schatz is the defending World of Outlaws winner at Port Royal Speedway, earning the Tuscarora 50 $51,000+ top prize in 2018.

Tony Stewart finds tenth sprint car win of 2019 during Chatham Speedway visit

Dates: Friday and Saturday, October 18th & 19th
Event: 26th Annual Spooky 50
Series: United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour
Track: Chatham Speedway (Chatham, Louisiana)
Tony Stewart A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 1st (3rd)
Saturday: 2nd (2nd)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 21, 2019) - For the tenth time in 2019, ‘Smoke’ Tony Stewart earned his way to sprint car victory lane, this time during United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour competition at Chatham Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana.

Certainly no stranger to USCS competition, nor victory lane, Smoke’s triumph on Friday, October 18, was the product of row two, quickly racing his way to the front before being forced to hold back a hard-charging Mark Smith, who started ninth. The USCS victory was Stewart’s fifth of the 2019 season, his first since May 27 during a visit to Lexington, Tennessee.

“When you have a guy like Mark Smith behind you, you can’t make any mistakes. He’s a great racer, so anytime you can keep a guy like him behind you says a lot,” Tony Stewart explained, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car. “We enjoy racing with the USCS. It’s a fun Series. Hopefully we have plenty of opportunities to join them in the future.”

Although unable to repeat victory on Saturday during the USCS/Chatham Speedway finale, Smoke did the next best thing and finished second, ultimately ending his evening in the exact position that he started. Mark Smith, who started fourth, was the victor.

His schedule for the coming weekend remains uncertain, but Tony Stewart plans to return to sprint car competition as early as Thursday and Friday, October 31 & November 1, during the Texas Sprint Car Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway dirt track. The ASCS sanctioned program will feature the best 360 sprint car racers in the country including each and every ASCS national full-timer.

Rico Abreu sweeps Trophy Cup weekend for $26,000 payday, increases win streak to six

Dates: Thursday through Saturday, October 17th-19th
Event: 26th Annual Trophy Cup
Series: Open 360 Event
Track: Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, California)
Rico Abreu A-Main Finishes (Start):
Thursday: 1st (10th)
Friday: 1st (5th)
Saturday: 1st (17th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (October 21, 2019) - Increasing his current win streak to six since sweeping MOWA action at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on October 4 & 5, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu was the man to beat during the 26th running of Trophy Cup in Tulare, California, ultimately ending the three-day 360 sprint car showdown with three straight victories, clinching a total winner’s share equaling $26,000 in the process. The Trophy Cup sweep was a first-ever feat during the prestigious Thunderbowl Raceway event.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Golden State Restaurant Group/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Dancer Logistics/No. 24 sprint car, earned his Trophy Cup victories in convincing fashion, first climbing ahead from tenth and fifth, respectively, during preliminary main event competition.

Impressive enough, Abreu’s Trophy Cup finale win was accomplished from 17th on the grid, forced to start from row nine as the result of a top-20 invert.

Wasting little time during the 50-lap finale, Abreu powered his way to second by lap 39, surviving a multi-lap slide job assault against Tim Kaeding. By lap 44, Abreu was in control, driving his way around two-time All Star champion, Aaron Reutzel, after the Texas-native made contact with the outside retaining wall. From that point forward, it was the ‘Rico Abreu Show.’

“Oh man, that was wild,” Rico Abreu said of his weekend in Tulare. “I’m not even sure what to say. We are racing on a whole different level right now and it feels great. I owe it all to my team, my partners, and of course, my family. All we can do now is keep working and make this win streak continue.”

Although his schedule for the coming weekend remains uncertain, Rico Abreu plans to return to sprint car competition on Friday and Saturday, November 1 & 2, at the Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, California. The 36th Annual Tribute to Gary Patterson will engulf Stockton headlines that weekend, complete with 360 action on Friday, followed by a Sprint Car Challenge Tour (360) and King of the West-NARC (410) doubleheader on Saturday. Abreu will enter all three programs; 360 action on Friday, followed by a SCCT and King of the West-NARC double on Saturday.

Rico Abreu is the defending Tribute to Gary Patterson champion.
