Eighth place starting and defending race winner David Payne would make his way into the top five and take fourth from Horton on lap nineteen and bring 12th place starting Donald McIntosh along into fifth. Knuckles would again hold the lead on the restart, while Payne would take second from Trammell. Knuckles would maintain a steady lead over Payne until the final caution of the race flew on lap thirty-nine for a spin by Joey Standridge in turn two to set up a quick sprint to the finish.
